41  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Snuggamonkey (ringslings) on: February 06, 2008 09:50:14 PM
I never leave my house without my sling!!  I made mine (the one I'm snugglin in below)about 7 months ago and I swear that everytime I've gone somewhere I was asked about it. So now I make them alot. I order my rings from slingrings.com and they have beautiful colors! I give them as shower gifts to my friends and make a matching bag to put them in to make it a nice lil package, it also doubles as a mini diaper/whatever you can cram in it bag. enough said(i think) on with the pics...

these are 3 that I have just finished except the first one is awaiting my next ring shipment

this is the front of the bag the pocket is perfect for cell phones or if your lil one has lost yours a dora traveling music player works Wink

42  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / cute & easy booties on: February 06, 2008 11:27:35 AM
I love these booties! I bought the pattern from etsy and have been using my left over material from the slings I've been making(I need to take pics & post those).  These ones don't fit my lil pudger though (not yet anyway) luckily my sister just had a lil girl for me to give these to. Cheesy
43  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 2 dresses for my babes (highly inspired!!) on: February 05, 2008 06:10:26 PM
First off I would like to thank Vegbee and Shakespear for the inspiration to make these...you make such wonderful stuff!  Now on with it..My wonderful hubby got me a serger for christmas and I finally put it to use.
I was very intimidated but now I can't stop! After searching for ideas I went at it and these are what I came up with.   I used the elastic in the bobbin thing and used the machine to wind it..does it work better if you hand wind it? I didn't seem to get as much stretch as I was expecting.  On the bigger dress I did a couple of (semi) stretchy rows at the bottom to bring it in a bit...(looks super cute with leggins)...any hoo here they are (sorry for all the pics)

44  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / couple of paintings... on: January 24, 2008 12:03:52 AM
I painted these about 5 years ago (when it was safe to leave oil paint laying around) when I painted these I didn't have any concious inspirations...I would cover the canvas with one color to give it texture and then paint what I would see in the lines of brush strokes.....

45  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first reconstruction on: January 22, 2008 10:05:28 PM
So I grabbed a bag of long sleeved shirts from a thrift store for $5 and this is my first completed reconstruction. I used the sleeves for leggings and took the shirt in on the sides and added straps and buttons on the front and back.  I was going to use what would be the shoulders of the shirt for pockets but when you sew this material it flattens the ribbing so I will do that on the next one I make.

whatcha think?
thanx for lookin!
46  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Kiss kids...the most fun I've had making costumes!! on: January 22, 2008 08:17:09 PM
These costumes are from 2 years ago...I used scraps of material, a kids wrestling costume for the chest, and thumbtacks for the boot studs..my hubby used old hockey gear for "Genes shoulders" and a red lollipop for the famous red tongue. The kids loved it because  they were obviously recognized at every door.

What do you think??
