12  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / whatchoo talkin'bout? on: September 08, 2008 03:19:23 PM
yup its a Gary Coleman cord skirt Grin  I found the shirt with him and his classic saying at value village and have had it for some time trying to figure out what it wanted to be.  I just got a bunch of cord for fall and it came to me...he wanted to be on a skirt.  I made a very basic elastic waist skirt and appliqued his face to the butt and his saying to the front. I made the ruffles from the remainder of the shirt and found some matchy buttons.
here it is.....

it looks way better on but my model is on strike.... Wink
comments and critiques please Grin
thanks for looking
13  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / *KISS* recycled ladies shirt to lil skirt on: July 28, 2008 07:20:55 PM
This is my new favorite recon... I was going to make a dress out of it but the bottom of the shirt was sort of twisted so it became this lil skirt.

lil close up

now I have a bunch of beatles shirts to attack...its going to be hard to do them though because they're my shirts and I really heart the beatles!!
Thanks for looking!

14  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / my old baby outfit recreated but still retro on: July 28, 2008 07:08:05 PM
My mom just found an outfit that I wore when I was one and she gave it to me.  I had to make my own version for my daughter.
This first pic is of me in the original....

I changed my version by making the top reversable and changing the bottoms into a skirt

Thanks for looking!!
comments & critiques always welcome Grin
15  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / It's recycled...but not a dress..yay! on: July 10, 2008 04:49:57 PM
Another recycled creation but this time I made a skirt....
It reads "Queen of the Freakin' Universe"....nuff said  Cheesy

it has an elastic waist, the bow is purely decorative...
thanks for looking Grin
16  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / lil newborn halters with bums & buttons (lots o pics) on: July 10, 2008 04:34:35 PM
I wish I had a child that could fit these!  I used a dress that I already had as the idea for these, I made the strap tie at the side instead of the back to make them more comfortable seeing as the babys wearing these spend most of their time on their backs. a little ruffle and some buttons and ta-da....

thanks for looking Grin
17  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 29 ENTRIES / SuperMannie/girl on: July 04, 2008 09:18:14 AM
I found this shirt and was going to give it to my stepson because he loves anything super hero but then seeing as I cannot stop making these dresses I whipped it up and felt it not complete without a removable cape. My stepson  is 8 and has worn a cape since he knew what one was and it would be anything from a dish towel to a long blanket dragging behind him. my 3 year old has now followed in his foot steps and when I was taking these pics she was running around yelling " look mom I'm supermannie! is my cape flying?"

My stepson said that if he was a little girl he would "soooo wear it" Grin
Thanks for looking!
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / ummm...more of the same but I love these!! on: June 28, 2008 12:33:05 PM
I love this one!!  the fabric is from a thin thermal shirt, I put a bow and button on the bum and I made a matchy bow clip for the hair.

This was my shirt and I was sad to let it go but it was all for a good cause Wink

It's hard for me because I want to keep them but I finally jumped on the etsy wagon weeeee!
Thanks for looking

19  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Fathers Day dresses on: June 17, 2008 10:02:14 AM
My husband was so happy to see his little girls in matching daddy dresses.

They were his cheerleaders while he pressure washed around our townhouse (weird choice of things to do on fathers day:P)

the black thing in my daughters mouth is a ring pop...she wouldn't take it out.

mmmm...sorry.... I like this pic Tongue

the dresses are flanel and I used iron transfers... the transfers don't like flanel I have a feeling they won't look too nice when I wash them.
Thanks for looking. Cheesy
20  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / more recons..I just can't stop... on: June 10, 2008 09:07:10 PM
I apologize for posting more of these but I can't stop making them and I really like them. I've started changing the style a bit and this first one is my favorite so far. all of these were ladies shirts smalls and mediums and were completely taken apart and sewn back together. the writingon this first one is silver sparkle

I love the these buttons!! ( the red didn't look that messed up  I swear)

lil tweet heart

no model for this one but it fits my lil one.

Thanks for looking... comments and critisisms please...also I was selling these at a swap and wondering what you would expect to pay for these.  I sold some and had alot of interest but would like to have some advice if you have any.
