Helena-Ive never had any house cats as Im a total dog person.  But, I will strongly suggest no tensil on your tree.  Ive heard of many cats eating it, and it can cause serious problems and even kill them.

Listen to this lady, Helena!! When I was a young child my parents decided one year to put tinsel on the tree and one of our cats ate some and we had to keep pulling the strands out of it's bum Sad We were lucky, because there's a risk of the tinsel getting tangled in the intestines, but our kitty was ok after. Embarrassed, but fine. Smiley

A precaution I have sometimes taken is to tether the top of the tree to the curtain rod at the window it sits in front of. 2 strings from the center of the tree tied to the right and left on the rod, that way if the cat climbs the tree, the only way it can fall is the couple of feet toward the window.

Good luck!

I have one day's crafting finished! still searching for a specific supply and otherwise the crafting is coming along slowly and steadily. Smiley

Dear Santa, three things I would love to find in my stocking this year would be a food processor, a big fancy cat tree, and book store or craft store gift cards Smiley

Crafting is starting to come along slowly. Still working on Halloween stuff, so the Christmas stuff is still on the back burner, but all progress is good

The one game we love is Apples to Apples! It's an awesome card game that a huge group of people can all play and it really shows how differently everyone's brains work (in a hilarious way of course). We have so much fun playing this when we are visiting friends Smiley

My family loves this game too! I can't say I'd ever have friends over on Christmas eve, I consider that family time. But my family does like to play silly games. Apples to Apples or What's Yours Like, which is somewhat similar.

Crafting wise: I'm still at a standstill. reorganizing my office this week and once it's all settled in I can craft up a storm!

I love so many things about holiday food, I don't even know where to start. Since I went vegan in 2012 I'll be revamping a lot of my recipes for this Christmas, but the one thing I will absolutely have to veganize is my aunt's savoury cranberry filled stuffing! My absolute favourite thing on the Christmas table has always been stuffing.

In terms of sweets, I made some amazing spicy gingersnaps last year that will definitely be added to my regular repertoire!

Crafting: No progress this week. too much work and volunteering!

weekly check in: My favourite gift every year is actually a family tradition. since we were young, my mom always got me, my brother and my sister a new set of pajamas and we were allowed to open them christmas eve night so we could watch A Christmas Carol and sleep that night in them. It's still a tradition even if we don't all live together any more Smiley

Crafting, I have some supplies but need more, and haven't started crafting yet. I know what I'm making fr every day though!

Sorry I'm late on the check in - I've been CRAZY busy all week with my animal rights group after some huge news stories about Marineland. Haven't had a chance to check craftster. Smiley

My favourite lights are simple classic white lights lining eaves troughs and surrounding windows etc. But it has to be the CLASSIC white lights, not the newer "blue" white LED lights. They seem cold and uninviting to me? Yeah.

As far as crafting: I've got all my ideas except for one large and one medium. Have done planning and some supply-scoping and will be ready to start crafting soon!

My favourite part of the holidays is crafting gifts for all the lovely people in my life. Also baking cookies!
