1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: mini 12 days of christmas 2012 (signups:CLOSED sendouts: 11/28) on: November 13, 2012 05:57:42 AM
Q:  Your ideal christmas would be white with lots of soft snow or hot and summery?

A: SNOW! I live in southern Ontario and haven't had snow for Christmas since I was a little kid!! What wonder I would feel to wake up on Christmas morning to a big fat heap of snow Cheesy lol

Progress: FINALLY getting back on my feet after a week and a half of being bedridden. No craft progress in all that time, but I will be back to it this week in full force!

Q: No, I wouldn't skip Christmas! It's not stressful or overly commercialized in my family, a lot of gifts we give are handmade and/or useful things that we need anyway (like cookbooks, pajama pants, etc. haha) For us it's just a relaxing time to all hang out at my mom's house and watch silly movies and eat lots of goodies!

Progress: I didn't get any crafting done this week. Been down with a fever. Sad Just getting back on my feet today, so I should have a very productive rest of the week!

@lizzy, YES you can! It has to be an inkjet printer and the fabric has to have a backing for support, so I sprayglued it to printer paper, but even a sheet of heat-n-bond on the back works very well. I did that for pieces of a fabric map once.

Good question this week! I usually try to wait til December first. I know in the US the thanksgiving weekend is usually the threshold, but in Canada Halloween is the nearest big event that could placemark, and it's just a tad early for my taste, haha. This year I'm actually moving on December first, so I'll just be unpacking all my Xmas decor along with everything else! Smiley

Progress: slow n steady wins the race! I am absolutely loving how the largest item is turning out!!

sorry I guess I missed last week :/ It's been crazy here! Anyway for this week's questin, I'd start with the lightest and work to the heaviest, rather than go by size. I don't know why but I always judge my gifts by weight!! Smiley

Weekly question: I usually start my Xmas shopping at the local October craft fairs, I have 2 presents already!

Progress: crafting away! still focusing mainly on my Halloween costumes but after this weekend I'll be full-tilt into swap crafting and nothing else!

A: I'd want a gift card for a bookstore because I LOOOOOVE books but hate spending my own money on them. Tongue

Progress: nothing new this week!

Favourite holiday story: Garfield Christmas and The Grinch are probably tied. Nostalgia for childhood classics and all that Wink

Progress is good! I am ready to go on one of the large items!!

It saddens me what people are saying about people not really appreciating handmade gifts. Usually all of my gifts have at least some handmade component and it's always the favourite part for all my friends and family!

This Christmas I'm going to make my little sister some home-decor items (curtains, cushion cover maybe...) because she's moving out of my parents' house!

Progress: standstill. SUPER BUSY THIS WEEK!
