I was finally able to get pictures of what .. sent me! I love it and I'm so impressed with her stitching!

Sorry the photo's a bit dark. It's high quality at least. Smiley

Thanks so much .. Cheesy

2  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by cherry_blossom55 on: July 04, 2011 08:19:48 PM
Aight, so here's a look at all the loot that birdak made for me!

First up, a nice couch-sized pillow in Ravenclaw colours with adorable blue owls Smiley

next an embroidery hoop for my office wall to go with the AVPM hoop I got in my last swap. I think it's very pretty and the somewhat messy stitching is very charming. lol

A thrifted blue flower pot that she drew on with (I'm guessing) ceramic pens. The Ravenclaw eagle and "Wit beyond Measure" on either side!

Jewelry! Birdak knows all too well my obsession with earrings so she made me TWO pairs, along with two necklaces~the round bead one was purchased at a craft show

A Ravenclaw tie! I've been looking for a decent one for ages and she found me one and added a little Hogwarts felt patch!

My very own potions kit! All the little jars are filled with loose leaf tea (like I don't have enough lol) and they're packed into this cute little tin that she picked up at Value Village WHILE I WAS THERE under false pretenses of keeping it for herself.

This is more for my cat, but just made aesthetically wonderful in an HP kind of way. A Laser pointer wand!

My letter sealed with a deathly hallows symbol and complete with a lovely drawing of Luna and her patronus on the second page!

Finally, this is me modeling one of three t-shirts that birdak made for me with extra owl cutouts from the pillows. I only have pics of the one because they are all essentially the same but in different colours.

EVERYTHING

Myself and birdak happy with our new HPDH crafty goodness!!

dear god I look stoned, hahaha.

Aplogies~ I don't have the picture, so I'll get her to post it, but my edible was two AMAZING butterbeer cupcakes baked in these super cute (very Weasley-ish) earthware mugs. The frosting was just about the best thing ever. Seriously. We are going to make a regular cupcake version (in paper liners rather than mugs) for our premier party

Thanks for a great swap!

3  Comic book Catwoman in Costumes: Completed Projects by cherry_blossom55 on: May 18, 2011 12:24:59 PM
I made this costume as a commission in summer 2010 for a friend of a friend. It was my first major commission for someone I didn't know, and I've done several since then through reccommendations from this lovely Catwoman Smiley

Basically she wanted the classic purple catwoman bodysuit costume from the Batman comics for general purpose cotume-wearing such as FanExpo, costume parties, perhaps halloween. I made the bodysuit and the hood/mask, she already had the boots and gloves Smiley

I'm currently working on a Harley Quinn bodysuit costume for Catwoman's friend in the tuxedo in these pictures Cheesy Really excited about it!

Love to hear any comments or questions you have!

Here's my package from Abbeeroad! I love everything oh so much, she did a great job and I'm so thankful that she stepped in at the last minute because she was a great partner!

The whole bunch! OMG REDVINES, this giant bag is about half empty in this picture.  Roll Eyes woops lol

Closeup of the embroidery hoop. I love this part, I LOL every time. Cheesy Also the beginning of a hoopla wall! I love the way she did this with felt cut-outs mixed with the embroidery. it gives a really neat effect!!

Close-ups of the felt/paper bookmark featuring one of everybody's favourite quotes! It went straight into my current read: Prisoner of Azkaban!

A dyed-wood box with my house logo on the top Cheesy  I had mentioned that if I had a wand it would be made of purpleheart, so she dyed the box to look like purpleheart!

Inside the box were some little extras: friendship-bracelet-earrings (super cool!) and a simple beaded bracelet that I think is just adorable  Cheesy AND my very own portkey! haha

A paintbrush roll made with some of Abbeeroad's signature tie-dyed fabric (apparently via stalking she found out that I am a painter! Cheesy) with a snape quote along the top flap...and inside, the prettiest paintbrush ever! The wood is dyed like purpleheart just like the trinket box, with silver stars and silver wire spirals, and a gorgeous little piece of quartz at the end! I don't know if I can bring myself to paint with it, but I love it so much!

Annnnnd finally, the gratuitous shot of the kitty who went "OMG BOX!" and jumped on all my stuff Smiley

Thanks Abbeeroad!

5  2 Still Life Paintings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by cherry_blossom55 on: April 06, 2011 06:31:52 PM
These are the first two paintings I did for my painting course this semester. Both are still lives just because I wanted to, and sort of explorations of myself too. The first one is the stuff I keep on my bedside table and the second is more staged, but essentially the pile of stuff that would be left on the table/counter when I come home from a night out with the girls Smiley

Both are done with acrylic paints on canvas. First one is 5x3 feet (omg Sad ...so big) and was painted from a photograph, and the second is 24x30 inches and was painted from life. I'm sorry the images aren't any bigger, it's hard to truly represent the painting with such little pictures!

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

6  Re: anthropologie necklace or accessory knockoff swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by cherry_blossom55 on: March 27, 2011 04:45:26 PM
Okay, I can finally post what I received! It took its sweet time getting here, but everything Ashley_G sent me is gorgeous. rather simple, but gorgeous colours: perfectly my style!!

First, a crochet flower headband. I know I'm the third person to receive and post one of these, but I'm partial to thinking the colour of mine is the best Tongue Thanks Ashley!

Second, a lovely pink ribbon and pearls bracelet. it's two strands of ribbon that are woven in opposite directions....hard to explain, but it's very cool and very pretty! and bonus: adjustable, cause it ties up!

and last but not least, a gorgeous moss-green satin ribbon with sort of braided pearls in white and the same green. again, the size is adjustable which is great, and I think it's just swell!

I wore the headband to class on Friday and got all sorts of compliments. XD Yay!
Thanks a bunch Ashley_G, it's a great package, and worth the wait at customs!

I can't for the life of me find the other bits of paper with the words on them, but it said something to this effect:
"Sometimes I daydream about pushing my aunt off a bus or [something. You are an evil person and your kids would be] better off"

Glad you like it Ashley Smiley

Just a not, it looks like the necklace got all messed up in transit Sad I tried so hard to package it carefully. Here's a picture of how I intended it to hang!

Back: From now on, NO MEANS NO!

Back: You Hit me. Degraded me. Cheated on me. Raped me. Stole my innocence. You didn't love me. You loved using me. I never accepted this. Until now. Thank you.
