Simplicity 3618 is one of the first patterns I ever used.  I didn't have a lot of sewing experience at the time and it was actually pretty easy follow.  Don't let yourself be intimidated by it!  Even if the sewing is a little shaky, it's still super impressive that you make it yourself.  Besides, sewing just takes practice, so why not start now?

Those are so cute and I love the color coordinated shoelaces!

They make me want to go buy a pair of Converse.  They were always the best shoes to decorate but my last pair died years and years ago.   Hmmmmm, yup, must find a new pair Smiley

I say owls.  With the black of the head coming to a point between the eyes, it definitely gives the impression of a beak.
