1  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 8! closes TODAY~ 3/14 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by NessaGurl on: March 15, 2007 05:49:28 AM
as promised here are my fabrics. I have six to choose from. Please let me know your top 2 in order of preference. I will choose a contrasting lining for you unless you request something special for the denim. I also have sparkle cupcakes that I can put on  the front as well if you like. These would look super cute on the denim or houndstooth fabrics.

OK... here are the pics.
just a reminder... the gadget holders

and the fabrics

the fabric choices
1.black and white damask (shown in first picture)
2.denim (would look good with cupcake)
3.retro pink pods
4.light blue/beige houndstooth (would look good with cupcake)
5.Robert Kaufman "kitschy kitchen"
6.sushi fabric

Please let me know what material you would like (top 2) and if you would like a cupcake on the holder or not.

ok...hope those choices are ok.

3  Re: How's your Etsy shop doing now? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by NessaGurl on: March 09, 2007 10:00:29 AM
wow... those necklaces are really pretty, and I love the way you photographed them.

Hollyg... I really like your birdie prints. Once I get a reserve in my paypal account I will pick one up.

I finally made something... I have been so busy with swaps and making little things that I have neglected my bag making... here's the bag I made this morning.

I'm going to list it later on today... first I have to go for a walk and take advantage of this beautiful weather we are finally having  Grin

Here are the rest of the things I have received. There is a card  and a washcloth (in the wash) missing, but I did receive them.

the towel wrap is in the wash too, so here a pic I took when I first got it...I use it everyday...I love it

And this is a pic of me using my cup holder (I requested it instead of an ice cream cozy)...I have been using it A LOT...this was taken before we went to the market last saturday at a friends house.

I'm just waiting on the coasters, this has been a great swap.

thanks everyone

5  Re: Worth Your While Apron Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by NessaGurl on: March 08, 2007 10:41:35 AM
ok ok... here it is. I wanted to get better, more flattering pictures of me and the apron... but alas, it was not meant to be... so here is my super cute apron from TessTessi.

ok...don't laugh, my husband kept laughing cause of this pic... I have no waist and torpedo milk jugs as he calls them. I had just come home from aquafit and wasn't looking my best. This apron will look a hell of a lot better when I get my waist back... Sad *sigh*... my baby sure was worth every pound tho  Wink

And here is a close up of the apron I sent TessTessi... just including it cause I have it handy.

I am soooo happy with the way this swap turned out... looks like EVERYONE got great aprons... yay RM, your a great organizer.

7  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap (round 7!) now to Jan 21 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by NessaGurl on: January 19, 2007 12:20:31 PM
OK... Here' s the final picks of what I am offering. I will be offering 5 pendants similar to these... these are NOT the ones I will be sending out. I haven't made them yet...but they will be like these ones. Most of the pendants I made are multi-colored so they match a lot of different outfits.

And I will also be offering these mini wallets with a set of matching earrings. Lemme know which color you prefer, maybe two colors incase multiple people pick the same one.

yay... I'm going to spend this weekend, drooling over everything and making my list.... should be fun. Maybe that's how I'll spend my Saturday or Sunday morning... with breakie and a coffee... oh I can't wait, it'll be like going on a shopping spree.

BOBOLINK
... those are so pretty, they will be on my list for sure... I hope I can snag one.

8  Quilt Challenge #1 - Baby Size Giant Finger Hand in Quilting: Completed Projects by NessaGurl on: January 16, 2007 12:49:45 PM
O.K... so since there can be two entries in this challenge and I needed some practice quilting, I thought I would do a practice project. So here it is. My daughter has this habit of waving her hand in the air when she is feeding and it looks like she is pointing and saying "I'm number one" so my husband and I decided that she needed one of those big foam fingers that you get at the baseball games... so I decided to make one instead.  This isn't practical at all, its to entertain my husband and I... for shear laughter

Sorry for all the photos. The hand is 8"x4.5" . Both sides are quilted. The front has only quilting done around the hand, but I did some free hand quilting on the back. Its not that nice cause it was my first time doing it ever. The outline of the hand is actually painted on using glittery red fabric pen.

OK... here are the picks.

hope you get  a bit of a chuckle out of it like I do.

9  Re: Sweat Shoppe swap-(**discuss round 7: bottom pg 70) in New Swap Theme Ideas by NessaGurl on: January 08, 2007 07:56:49 AM
I would love to join this swap. One question thought... do you need tracking on all these items? (I couldn't find the answer anywhere) If you don't then I will sign up, if you do then I won't be able to afford $9+ per package for shipping.

If I do enter, then I would like to make bracelets like this in the persons fav colour

or send pendants like this

would anyone be interested in any of those products?

10  Wendy The Wiener Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by NessaGurl on: January 05, 2007 09:22:43 AM
WOW...Wendy was way way more difficult to make then I thought. But I think it turned out ok considering this is the second time I have made anything with a zipper. It took 3 hours... Most of that was spent trying to turn the thing right side out... wow, next time I will definitely make the legs fatter and the tail not so thin (thats why it looks like a stub)

It is made out of a nice soft upholstery fabric and is lined with fleece interfacing. The underside of the ears is lined with the same pretty amy butler fabric that is inside. It closes with a zipper . It is 15.5" from nose to tip of tail.

The whole thing.

the head

the lining

a so you can get an idea of how big she is... my Sophia likes Wendy so far!

Hope you like it...now what the heck do I do with a wiener clutch... I think I'll save it for Sophia when she's older.
