2  COOKING / Dessert / Citrus AND Pinapple Cupcakes !!!! on: January 31, 2010 08:28:03 AM
Hey!

I've had this cupcake book for a while and today decided to try one of the ones I'd been eyeing up for a while, the pinapple cupcakes with citrus frosting.

As the frosting recipe called for cream cheese which always kinda puts me off recipes, i changed it and made lemon and lime buttercream instead. So half the cupcakes have lemon icing the others have lime and then there are two lonely ones without because my dad said they taste just as nice without too. You put pinapple chunks and juice in the cake mixture so they taste kinda like pinapple upside down pudding, but slightly nicer Smiley I also made two muffin sized ones as i had extra mixture (I doubled it from the original recipe) so...

This is the lemon iced muffin and...

This is the lime iced muffin!

The ones to the right are the lime ones and the ones to the left are the lemon ones! I can't wait to eat them and judging by the amount of people hovering round them in the kitchen neither can the rest of my family! ha ha Smiley

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Clothes for my poppet!! on: December 30, 2009 04:41:08 AM
I LOVED all the poppets you'd all been making so i finally decided to make a basic one, to look like me, and i keep forgetting to post it so finally here it is. I made it a few years ago and it STILL hasn't got a face, but when all my exams are over for the summer i will try and sort one out.

Anyway even though it can't see i made it some clothes, so she would look slightly more presentable. I had a lot of this leopard print cotton as scraps and decided to use it up so now nearly all her clothes are made from it. I know their not as good as the things I've seen on the posts before, but i was only 13/14 when i made them, and I'd never drafted patterns before for a doll like that Smiley. so here goes....

knitted legwarmers first (there should be a matching scarf but i can't find it)

Leopard print halter dress and shows you the rest of the doll (yes, my hair really is that long Smiley )

Leopard print skirt with black net underneath

And a few more but i will post them all later once I've taken a few more photos Smiley
Anyway thanks for looking and I'd love to know what you think!

5  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Wicked Witch Of The East???? on: February 06, 2009 08:44:00 AM
My friend is holding a fancy dress birthday party and me and my friends are going as the characters from 'The Wizard Of Oz' and I'm the wicked witch of east. But I've never seen the film or read the book or whatever, so I really need costume help. It has to be fun and easy to move in, but not too revealing cos its a party for 13 - 15 year olds mainly (I'm 14), and my mum has to let me wear it. Thanks.

8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Sugar paste!?!?! Argh!!!! on: February 23, 2008 11:59:16 PM
Thanks. But I mean sugar paste like roll out icing. Maybe sugar paste is different in america to england. I think I'm confusing people sorry.

But thanks for the frosting idea. I'll try and post some pics but it might take a while, cos I need to get a new camera first.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Ties!!! on: February 23, 2008 03:36:49 AM
I have about 8 middles of Ties and I really don't know what to do with them!

I really don't want to waste them, but they just seem a bit useless.
10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Sugar paste!?!?! Argh!!!! on: February 23, 2008 02:50:18 AM
Please Please help me!

I'm making my mums birthday cake for the first time this year and I want to cover it in suger paste, before I put the decorations on top. But, I've never made suger paste before and in my recipe it says I need to seperate the egg whites 24 hours before. Do I really need to do this or will it work anyway if I don't?

Also I've never stuck suger paste to a cake before, does it stick by its self orr do I have to put jam over the cake first like with marzipan? I've stuck with normal icing on to biscuits before, so would this work the same way??

Thank you loads!
