Hello. =^-^= I'm new to Craftster, but aspire to become a regular. Call me Donovan, or Donnie if you will. I'm almost 17 and live in a dreadfully bland and mundane small town in Arizona, a town where the type of clothing I desire is...sparse at best. So, in my months living out of a backpack a few years ago, I started to alter...free *cough*...clothing to fit me correctly, and fit my overall 'steampunk/gothic aristocrat' style.
I've now temporarily moved back into my previous (shabby) residence, with my not-so-fabulous parents. But I do have a release - my stitch work.
My most recent and least sane task (as of yet) is an Edward-Scissorhands-esque top hat. ^^ I had many leather scraps left from my rampage on disheveled coats with stitch-removers and various trusty sharp objects, and my eye caught a cheap party top hat from years ago. That has become the skeleton of my bizarre creation.
At this point, I have the sides and top somewhat completed (lacking in decoration though), and I find myself at a standstill...how am I to create the brim? ._. I have wiring to put in it, once I figure out how to do so.
(Hooray for dental floss. My hat smells...minty fresh. :3)
I'm stuck and stupefied. Help? <3
(Note: I haven't a proper sized piece of material to trace the circle of the brim in whole, so I'm hoping someone has advice for how to make various smaller pieces work.)
