1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bracelet & Earrings polymer clay beads on: January 30, 2008 10:37:25 AM
I used a mixture of glass beads, lampworked beads and my own handmade pink and blue polymer clay beads.
This is a lot of fun to make from start to finish.

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Another OOAK Silkstone barbie that I created + her outfits and jewelry on: January 24, 2008 07:30:13 PM
In order to remove the face make-up you use an acetone based nail polish remover with many, many Qtips.  You can't rub too much, but as soon as the Qtip is dirty it will smudge the face if you are not careful to constantly use a clean qtip, if the make up becomes smudged around the face you will never get it off without sanding!
To repaint I use water based acrylic paints and very small brushes.

Make sure to use an artist quality acrylic sealer to protect the face against chipping and scratches. The secret to repaints is lots and lots of practice using tiny brushes, I practiced on old barbies before trying it on the more expensive dolls (like the silkstone barbies).

this was a really fun painting to do. i love the way it turned out and it's perfect with valentine's day right around the corner. right now it's being displayed right at the entrance of my house near the front door. so it's the first thing i see on my way off to work and it reminds me of all the people i love and i'm grateful to have in my life.
hope you like it too...have a fabulous week Grin
