1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / guy riding a skateboarding ostrich (image obese) on: November 02, 2008 12:10:32 PM
So here's one of the costumes I made this year.  It was for my sister's boyfriend.  He wanted to ride an ostrich.  It took so much polyfill and about killed my sewing machine but it was worth it.  They went to a huge party here in Vegas and he won the costume contest.  The ostrich's name is Penelope and she skateboards.

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I made an Ostrich Jockey costume (image obese) on: November 01, 2008 04:32:34 PM
So my sister and her boyfriend told me that he wanted to go as a guy riding an ostrich for halloween this year and asked me to make it ('cause I'm the only crafty one in the family).  I said sure not realizing how I was actually going to do it so after some planning, about 10lbs of polyfill and almost killing my sewing machine I present Eric (the boyfriend) and penelope.  By the way, penelope is a very talented skateboarder.  the only one int the world in fact that we know of.

(I did not  make my sister's costume but I love the look on Penelope's face (beak?)
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Teal Butterflies - Birthday gift for Boss on: June 18, 2008 09:08:03 PM
So here's my newest creation.  It's a birthday gift for my Boss who's also a personal friend so; no, I am no sucking up.  :-) I made an apron out of this fabric awhile ago and she mentioned she would love a purse made out of it  Please pardon the stray threads and moss that fell on it.  I'll clean it up before I give it to her.

The title says it all.  Specifically, I am having problems understanding on how to do the back collar.  If anyone has worked with this pattern, any help would be appreciated

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My newest oilclth apron on: May 27, 2008 06:45:19 PM
So after I made my first two oilcloth aprons for a friend who's a hairdresser, I got an order for another one from one of the other stylists in her salon.  She picked out the fabric and so this is what I came up with.  Critiques and comments are welcome.

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My newest bag *quatro photos* on: May 24, 2008 02:05:38 PM
Here's a small standard messenger bag I made for a friend.  No pattern, just the dimensions and fabric that she wanted.  I have never done a button hole before so that was a challenge.  It seems as tough each time I make a purse I find something else that "I should do differently next time".  Let me know what you think.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More resin stuff on: May 23, 2008 10:19:10 AM
Here's my latest resin batch.  Still have to clean up the edges and figure out mounting.  Experimented with flowers I found in my yard.  *NOTE: Resin drains color from flowers whether or not you put them in fresh or dried with silicone.  The skull on blue was inspired by a ring I saw in Maxim on Avril Lavigne (not a big fan of her but I like her style). http://img.funtasticus.org/2007/jan8/avril2128/avril001.jpg
Tell me what you think.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Friday night apron on: May 12, 2008 12:37:30 PM
Used the pattern from Vanilla house.    I love this one.

Sorry for the mess in the background.  I forgot to take pics before I brought it to work.
