1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / has there been a steampunk swap? on: April 19, 2008 07:31:58 PM
My mayun and I were talking about all the interesting functional items that we could make and then he asked if there was steampunk swap going.

Anyone? Quick, before he builds me more things for the living room. Wink
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / no more anxiety about my stencil! on: April 06, 2008 10:03:21 AM
My first decent stencil. I can tell that I'm going to do this more and more often.

I am sewing an a line dark denim tea length skirt and this will be on the bottom right hem. The denim in the photo is scrap to test it on fabric.

Cutting

Awful job and I was mighty irritated with myself.

It bled terribly.

But I tried again...

I'm in love with it! Much simpler than I imagined.
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Anxiety on: April 06, 2008 05:22:36 AM
I spent many many hours cutting a pretty (for me) detailed stencil. It's only my second but I am determined to get proficient at stencil making and using.

I am nerve wracked about how it's actually going to look and am putting off using it.

Anyone else do this or am I the only goober about this?  Grin
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / Here's an ethical green crafty question. on: March 07, 2008 06:50:21 AM
Is it more ecologically ethical to;

a) Donate my family's old clothes I just pulled out of everyone's closets to Goodwill.

2) Pull out all elastics, buttons, and zippers to reuse on my crafts and sewing of new clothes for us?

Either way they are being reused.

I'm not stressing over it, I am just wondering which is more green. Huh
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / donna reed has nothing on me on: February 21, 2008 02:09:49 PM
Girly girl apron for my first post here. The pocket flower that is hard to see is a few layers of felt.
