21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Going Green Swap (Signups 03/03 - 03/09, Send 04/14) on: March 12, 2008 06:06:54 PM
I'm going for a mix as well, things that will help be more green and crafty things made from recycled goods.

I have two of my three done and may start my third tonight but it's been a long day.

Quitting smoking for a few months now and quitting social message board posting has given me an amazing amount of free time, can't believe how fast it's gone.  Grin
22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Happy Period Cozy on: March 07, 2008 07:54:26 AM
very cute!  i've never done a zipper, so i think it looks great! lol

9 is very young to begin menstruating.  has she seen a dr about it?  i've heard of them giving meds to stop them menstruating for a couple more years.

Nine is young, but not outlandish. Giving meds to stop it would seem a little bit overkill to me. There are always a few kids that experience early onset of puberty.

You did an awesome job and are a good aunt. Smiley

Thanks for adding me. I haven't signed up for any swaps before now because of just having other things going on but winter has started to drag on and on and on and crafting has been keeping me sane this past month. Can't wait to get going on this.
24  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / Here's an ethical green crafty question. on: March 07, 2008 06:50:21 AM
Is it more ecologically ethical to;

a) Donate my family's old clothes I just pulled out of everyone's closets to Goodwill.

2) Pull out all elastics, buttons, and zippers to reuse on my crafts and sewing of new clothes for us?

Either way they are being reused.

I'm not stressing over it, I am just wondering which is more green. Huh
25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Corsets, 32 yards of tulle and brocade! on: March 06, 2008 07:39:49 AM
I like the shape of the corset quite a bit. Nice work.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Skirt and bustle-ish thing on: March 06, 2008 07:39:03 AM
I have always regretted that I will never have the opportunity to wear a bustle. I love love love them. Very cute.

That turned out BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had *ehem* better boobs for a corset. I have a pattern for a vogue corset and skirt I cannot wait to try!

I also have a vogue pattern for a skirt and corset just sitting there waiting for me to buy boning and just try. It's intimidating. Kiss

Do it!
28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Prom dress with 188 feet of lace, yellow pleats and a petticoat on: March 06, 2008 07:33:51 AM
I sewed my prom dress with my mother and always remembered that dress much more than just buying one. It's lovely, wonderful job.

Really nice, that's one of my favorite color combinations right now.
