1  Felt Ornaments in Winter Holidays by susief00 on: November 18, 2011 01:29:47 PM
I discovered  the fun of working with felt last year and made these ornaments. I didn't get to finish or use them then because of a family tragedy but I brought them back out this year and I am going to make more.

Several of these were inspired by things on Craftster and around the net so any similarities was probably intentional but I don't know where I got all the ideas from anymore.

Yay...such great packages! Love the owl fabric and the rainbow thread!

I finally got my photos edited! I ended up using Paint Shop pro which I'm not that familiar with so I didn't do much but crop and resize. My photo skills leave a lot to be desired of course but I think you can see everything pretty good!

Zombie_Queen did an excellent job and hit on so many of the things I needed...I've got a huge list of projects lined up already...lol

I really want to learn how to do embroidery so ZQ sent me some thread, needles and even patterns! I can't wait to get started on some of those Under The Seas patts! Also a bag of beads with some jewelry making supplies, some really cute big ric rac and some beaded trim!

Here is some nice yarn I recieved. Most of the yarn I have access to is acrylic so ZQ sent me some wool and cotton yarn. I am excited about the crochet thread as I have never had any and I can't wait to try working with it. There is a really nice cotton/silk blend that is so soft! I want to learn to knit so she also included some great bamboo knitting needles and some learn to knit dvds! i have been working with them already Smiley

Lovely lovely fabrics! Yay! I have so many ideas of things to do with these pieces. I have already used the zebra print on the end...haha! I love all of them and tried to pick my favorites but couldn't decide!

If I have to pick a favorite thing out of my box I think this would be it! Yummy Alexander Henry fabric! I am already picturing a purse, mathing wallet and maybe a tissue holder!

Here is the whole package! I can't believe she got all of it into one box!!

Thanks you so so much Zombie_Queen! I love everything and can't wait to start crafting with it all! Your the best!

I am almost done with your thank you gift and hope to get it mailed out this week!

4  Zippered Pouch and Wristlet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by susief00 on: January 16, 2010 05:44:26 PM
Made these for some friends for Christmas. I used this video tutorial located here:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/video/28605/easy_wrislet_pattern_sew_your_own_lined.html?cat=30

The top one is a suede like material...so it feels so soft! The bottom one is Thomas Kinkade fabric....I used a different cottage for each side.

Other side of the cottage pouch. This one was suppose to be a wristlet but the strap and I had a difference of opinion and well....the scissors where laying right there...so I used them Wink

Close up of birdy applique.

The linings.

5  Coca-Cola Apron in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by susief00 on: January 16, 2010 05:24:34 PM
My mom has been wanting a new apron for a while. She has trouble finding them because she likes the full apron but she is short (about 5' even) so most of the full ones are really long on her.

I decided to make her a new one for Christmas making a template out of her old one, which was originally made by my oder brother when he was in shop class in high school. I think it was suppose to be a shop apron but mom has been using it a long time (considering me and my brother have been out of school for 20 years). Anyways...that apron now has a huge hole in it so she definitely needed a new one.

I wanted to find some cute Coca-Cola fabric as she collects Coke items and wants to decorate her kitchen with a Coca-Cola theme. Sadly I couldn't find any and I waited to late to order anything.

In the end I copied the coke logo from the net...tracing it from my monitor (my printer is out of ink) onto freezer paper and using fabric paint.

I am really pleased with how this came out considering it is my first project that wasn't like a throw pillow or a zippered pouch. I didn't follow a specific pattern but I did look at a lot of them to get a general idea of how to construct it.

Sorry for the wrinkled appearance. I didn't get around to taking pictures until after she had been using it....she was getting ready to wash it when I snagged it.

Close up of the pocket. This was my first time doing a stencil and using fabric paint so it's a little wonky.

It's lined with red with white polka dot fabric but the picture doesn't really show the dots well.

Action shot! Mom made me blank her face out because she hates how she looks in photos...lol

I think she was really pleased with it and it turned out pretty well. Next time I will make the top a bit narrower and maybe adhere interfacing to the neck strap for extra support.

Thanks for looking Smiley
C & C always welcome!

6  Stop!!! It's Goomba time!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by susief00 on: January 16, 2010 04:52:07 PM
Made this for my best friends son for Christmas. He collects Mario plushies so I made him a few of the extra things that they didn't have at the store.

I totally winged this Goomba. I had no idea what I was doing as I am very new to sewing but in the end it didn't turn out to bad at all. Well...the front looks good....I forgot to take a pic of the back to show you the dreadful sewing I did on the openings...haha!

He is made out of felt and a little stuffing. I used a combo of machine and hand sewing so I got some good practice in.

These where the closest colors I had to match him...I think it worked ok.

Group shot with the other things I made. I posted about them here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=334477.0

Thanks for looking Smiley
C & C always appreciated!

7  Mario Star and Mushroom in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by susief00 on: January 16, 2010 04:37:33 PM
My best friends son is mad for all things Super Mario related. His mom and dad have bought him a lot of the Mario plushies...he has Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Koopa Troopa and more. So I thought for Christmas I would make him some of the things he didn't have.

I modified this pattern a bit for the invincibility star:
http://arpelia.blogspot.com/2008/03/super-mario-invincibility-star-crochet.html

I used Wolfdreamer's pattern for the Mushroom:
http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2009/05/mario-brothers-mushrooms.html

I blurred the background in Photoshop for aesthetic reasons (ok ok...mainly because there was a dirty old box in background  Embarrassed ) but decided it was to much trouble so I just did it on this pic...lol

Here is a group pic with the sewn felt Goomba I made too. I'll post that in another thread. (The star doesn't have arms...I used a little Spongebob doll I made to prop it up with Wink )

Thanks for looking  Grin
C & C always welcome!

8  Re: Twilight Rd 7 - GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by susief00 on: June 05, 2009 05:08:51 PM
Ok...Finally!! I am so sorry it took me so long boo!! These are the best pics I could get with my camera and the weather we've had for days. If you have better ones of anything that you'd like to post boo, that's no problem!

I got the best swap package!!! All the gifts we're wrapped up and we had a blast opening them! Sorry I don't think I have a pic of it before I got inside it, lol

Here is a set of gorgeous cards! I love the small Jasper and Emmett ones and the big ones are just great! There is a really cool Jacob one, but my niece has stolen it so it's not in the group picture.  Here is some click-able thumbnails so you can see them in more detail....they are all awesome!!

This was the card to me....isn't it adorable!!

Here is my Jasper bag that you saw earlier! This is really one of my most favorite things...ever! I can't wait to get moved into it! I LOVE it!!

Top is a pouch and sun glasses case, there was a bigger pouch too that went with the set but my 3 year old niece has absconded with it!!!  Shocked The bottom is the organizer that goes in the bag, I love all the the little pockets on it and the keychain...awesome!!!

Here is some beautiful jewelry Allie made me. Alice's crystal ball choker and Edwards Cold Heart earrings!

There really aren't words to describe how very much I love this necklace! The colors, the teeth, Team Hale....it is so chock full of fanfabulousness (yep, i'm making up words now) that I can't stand it!!!  Grin

Left:
I tried so hard to get a good picture of this necklace...but I just couldn't!! If you can't read it, it says...The Morning After the Honeymoon.....then, Why am I covered in feathers? It may be hard to tell with my crappy camera...but those are real feathers attached Smiley

Right:
The books and blood necklace is so cool! I've decided that this is the ones I'll wear when I go see New Moon!! I've had some serious jealousy over these already...muhahahah a!

This is my wonderful Jasper Bubble Pendant! He is so adorable in the baseball cap!!! This is really great and it's now one of my prize possessions!! Also, here are some matching earrings which I love (green is my favorite color) plus a tube of vampire sparkle Smiley The little pouch on the right had my bubble pendant in it I believe, so cute. The inset pic lets you see a little more detail of the pendant.

Ok, this is totally one of my favorite things!! It is Jasper's 50 tips for relaxation! The box has the Cullen crest on it and inside are 50 tips to help me shed stress and relax...lol. This is soooo cool!!!! I love how all of them start out...Jasper says....hehee!!! These two say Jasper says to not feel guilty about taking some "me time" and Jasper says to walk the dog. Excellent tips!!

Here is a gorgeous cameo and flower necklace. The colors are great and I love the originality of it!!! It's great!!! You have such talent Allie!!

I adore this bracelet! The leaves are so cute!!! It feels so earthy and fairy like! I've wore it a lot already!

This is my gorgeous neckwarmer (to hide any bite marks I may have, hehee) with adorable apple charm and wish charm. The colors are just great!! At the bottom is my cool sleep mask!I see these getting some good use!

Here is some extra things Allie included for me. I can not find animal/doll eyes in my area so she sent me some which I am so excited about!!! She also included the leftover yarn from the neckwarmer and a plastic egg filled with beads and baubles and such! It also had several poly clay charms of sweets in it! Thank you so much for these boo!!

The top left here shows a wonderful little surprise! A dog coat for my little werewolf, Wolfie!!! Thank you Allie! That was sooo thoughtful and it is just adorable!!!

By now all of you have realized that boo_zombie is majorly talented and really spoiled me to death...but did you also know that she was INCREDIBLY generous?? Not only did I get all the great stuff you just saw but she also made a little package for my niece AND my cousin! They love Twilight as much as me and we all bonded over our obsession for it, so I am so glad they got to be involved with me in this.

Here is what she made for my niece...

Everything came in this awesome pouch! This fabric is the coolest!!! In the upper right corner it, was my nieces initial...really cool! Inside was all kinds of goodies...

First there was a Jacob Bubble Pendant in a cute pouch, which my niece adores!!! Then there were three Werewolf Support bracelets and to be honest I don't think she has taken these off yet...lol. If all that wasn't enough...there was a Bella's bracelet!!! She was tickled with everything and I want to thank you so much for including her...because if you hadn't....she would have taken all my stuff...haha!

Here is the best action shot I currently have....

My niece's shirt is not staged either...that was what she was really wearing when we got the package...lol

Also included but not pictured:
A Carmello Koala - man was it good!
Two Kinder-Surprise Eggs - I have wanted these for so long!!!!
My cousins package was like my nieces except the pendant was of Bella and Edward in a pre-kiss moment...lol. Also no wolf support bracelets, but pretty  bead ones for forks, Edward and Bella! She really liked it all!!!

I did get a couple pics of my cousin with her stuff...but it was on her camera and bless her, she can't seem to figure out how to email them to me...lol

So what did I tell ya?? That was the best package ever wasn't it??? Smiley

Thank you so much Allie! I had such a great time doing this and you were just awesome!!! I know this post was super long but I had so much I had to show off...I tried to combine things to keep the number of pics down as much as possible!

9  Leprechaun Debauchery in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by susief00 on: March 17, 2009 03:59:33 PM

Meet Shady O'Grady. He is a wee Leprechaun from the Emerald Isle. He came to stay with me here in Kentucky for a while. He didn't say but I get the impression he might be avoiding some trouble he landed himself in at home  Huh

Shady loves counting his gold and drinking his poteen, which is highly alcoholic!

Woah! Easy there Shady!

You can usually tell that Shady has had a bit to much to drink when he starts stripping out of his duds!

It might be best if you do have a bit of a lie down Shady!

Shady Shady Shady! You just never know when to quit do ya Sad

This was my little St. Patrick's Day gift to myself.  I've been working on him off and on for a few weeks. He turned out a bit more portly than I had intended but I just love how roly poly he is now...lol.  Cheesy

I attempted to use Owly's awesome hair tutorial for his hair...but I think I need a lot more practice with that...lol  Shocked

Tutorial here - http://owly.wordpress.com/2007/08/27/amigurumi-hair-tutorial/

Sorry about the photos...I had a nice sunny day out and thought I would get better than my usual ones...but I think I got a bit to much sun in some of them.

Smiley Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!! Smiley

10  Re: ST. Patrick's Day cookie/sweet swap gallery of goodies! in The Swap Gallery by susief00 on: March 15, 2009 05:04:53 PM
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get my pics up! I somehow managed to lose the recipes that came with my package and I couldn't remember what the names of my sweets where...though that wasn't stopping me eating them...lol.

Then I got all my pics uploaded earlier today AND I managed to find the recipes (of course they were right where I left them  Roll Eyes I'm such a goof at times) Then I had to leave and I didn't have a chance to post!

So with no further ado..............

My first treats are called "Cookies for the Indecisive"! That is so totally me...lol
Some of the ingredients are Chunky Peanut Butter, Mashed Banana and Chocolate Chips!! They are really good! What is funny is that I have a deep love for Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches...so grimmscreed nailed me head on!

Also the jars they came in are great!! These are going in my crafting area to help me keep some of my ever growing supplies tamed! I love them!!

My second batch of goodies is called "Chocolate Mint Surprise". These are so good too!

I'm not lying when I say...that at least half of my goodies are gone...and I'm not sure if anyone has helped me with them yet  Embarrassed

Here is cutest gift box that had all my other things in it....Chinese take out like green container....I mean does it get better than that!!

Here are my bought goodies! Glitter, stamps and green stamp pad! I ADORE the stamps! I was making something for grimmscreed's package the other day and I kept thinking....I wish I had some stamps...it would really jazz it up!! So it's like she read my mind!!!

Close up of the great stamps!

Here is my majorly cool key chain! I love the stone/glass (?) color. My camera isn't good enough to get a nice clear up close shot...but she has wings made of flowers! How neat is that!

Plus my gorgeous pin! I will wear this all the time....green is my most favorite color...so St. Paddy's day or no...this is a great accessory for me!!

Thank you grimmscreed!! It was a great package!!

Thanks also to Missmuffcake and The Platypus Project for organizing this swap! I had a blast!!!
