11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Extra life anyone? (Now with pattern) on: March 12, 2009 06:04:51 AM
I managed to get a picture of this 1UP Mario mushroom before giving to my lil' sister. She wanted a key chain. I put it on a swivel clasp, so she can clip it on her shoe, phone, or wear it on a chain, too. It was beaded with delica beads in peyote stitch.
I'd love to bead up a fireball flower sometime. So much to do...
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / "Circle gets the Square" - bellydance, costume, festival necklace on: September 18, 2008 11:11:13 AM
I made this piece for the a monthly challenge...the theme this month being "Complimentary Contradictions".
I used a bunch of different types of beads. Swarovski glass pearls, delica seed beads, toho seed beads, czech firepolished beads, swarovski crystals squares and one circle crystal for the clasp. I put a lot of energy into making my hands do what I saw in my head, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded freeform bracelet with paula shell cabochon on: July 10, 2008 07:58:46 AM
This is my first ever entry into the a Monthy challenge - the theme is "A Midsummer Nights Dream"

I took this as an opportunity to use up some of those blue beads that seem to be more abundant than any other color of bead I have.
It was a lot of fun making this bracelet...freeform is just picking up the needle and seeing what happens!
I used about 16 different colors, including delica seed beads, toho seed beads, swarovski crystals, bugle beads, and a few glass beads. A beaded toggle clasp blends seamlessly into the design, and the focal cabochon is an abalone/paula shell, encased in woven seed beads.

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bridal necklace - netted with delicas, tohos, pearls on: May 16, 2008 04:42:39 AM
I posted my hubby-to-be's wedding day labradorite necklace a bit earlier, and I finished mine last night! It's woven with delica seed beads, toho seed beads, and different sizes of swarovski glass pearls, and the clasp is mother of pearl.

Now on to my sister's...
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Labradorite/Hematite necklace for my groom on: May 15, 2008 06:22:58 AM
This past Saturday my fiance went out to get stuff at Home Depot, at which time I took the opportunity to make his wedding day necklace. He knew that I was going to be making one for him. When he came home and I told him it was all done, he wanted to see it. So I said, "Ok hon, just guess what 2 stones I used in it and you can see it today, otherwise you're waiting till the day", thinking he'll NEVER guess both the stones on the first try.
RIGHT-a-friggin way he blurts out labradorite. I didn't say yes or no (even though he was spot on)...and then about a minute later he says hematite. I had to show it to him.
Hopefully I'll be showing off MY necklace soon...I'm almost done with it.

Here's his necklace:

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / White gold & Swarovski beaded - "flapper" earrings on: January 21, 2008 08:39:34 AM
These earrings consist of a checkerboard Swarovski flatback crystal captured in 22k white gold hex-cut delica beads & fringed with 8 helix Swarovski crystals. My fiance said they reminded him of vintage "flappers", thus the name.

20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Seed bead wrapped jasper stone on: January 17, 2008 12:11:09 PM
Someone came to me with a pendant with a pretty jasper stone and asked if I could do a bead wrap around it. Sure thing! Only, it was already set in a silver setting. I decided to bead right around that sucker anyways. The silver really took attention away from the stone, so I thought a matte black would be fitting, and bring the stone to the forefront. I used sz.11 delicas for the bulk of the beading, and 15's in some areas to make the tension a bit more tight.

Here is a before and after collage, hope you like it!
