Wow, that looks REALLY good. That is our mentality too - eat all you can then can the rest. We once got 12 pints of strawberrys for $9.00 at the farmer's market (a good price for where we live), and the jam we made with them is so delicious. Home canning is the way to go for sure!
Thank you for sharing the recipe, I will have to try this soon.

I've been pretty quiet because I am barely at home anymore... I underestimated the workload for this semester, bigtime. I wish I had more time because I have seen a couple of things that caught my eye... If they are up while I am at home I will claim.

Man I really like that pineapple fabric! If I weren't at school right now I would claim it. Is it flannel? It sort of looks like it in the picture, but then again it could just be my crazy eyesight, lol.

WOW. I just checked out the gallery, and I can already tell I'm out of the running. But I promise that you will love your "jar" nonetheless, freestyle!

Holy cow, I like that fabric! That is a really unique bag too, I never thought about making the straps like that. Awesome job!

Thanks guys! Smiley

is stabilizer the same as interfacing?

That is not a dumb question at all. I think it is. Actually, I think what I used is interfacing, not stablizer, because stabilizer goes on the back of embroidery so that the fabric won't crinkle. You can tell I'm no expert at these things, lol. It is pellon, the fusible kind.

Haha, just kidding. I know you guys are probably tired of seeing this fabric by now, but I am so in love with this bag that I had to share.

I promised myself that I wouldn't make any more bags, but I needed the perfect one to take to school. It had to be big enough for all of my stuff and perfectly tailored to my needs. So, I made it with the little bit of the kokka trefle fabric I had left.

I love huge bags. The bottom is squared off and reinforced with extra interfacing. I also stitched the handles down like six times, so hopefully they won't go anywhere.

Here is the inside. It is a little hard to see, but I made pockets near the bottom of the bag custom fitted to hold my calculators, lab glasses, and pens and pencils. The pockets for my calculators and lab glasses are padded with layers of fleece so that they won't get crushed. At the very top you can kinda see (if you look really hard) the shirred loop that I put in to hold my water bottle upright.

And just for fun, here it is modeled as a necklace.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Hey everyone! I'm still here! I think I have collected a good amount of whimsies, but I am still working on the container. It will take some time, but i promise it will be worth it.

At first I didn't get what you meant Aiki, rofl.  Grin

I am still alive and crafting!! School is taking up more time than I anticipated. My classes are cut throat this semester! But it is all good, I know exactly what I am going to make and I have already started. Smiley

20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Inchies - One more Round on: September 05, 2009 03:17:27 PM
I received my last set of inchies today! They are awesome.

That fabric in the background of the "Diva" one actually has a golden sheen to it. It is hard to capture in a scan. My favorites are "Square Bear" and "Impossible". Thank you Seraphina!!
