41  Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by tcha345 on: March 17, 2008 02:00:34 PM
My stuff from coryjo: Smiley

All the stuff together:

something hard - two books: "Bad Boys in Kilts" and "The Dream Hunter"

something round - a rug! I almost made her one (how strange is that?) but changed my mind at the last minute.

something green - JoAnn's sensations! yarn! My favorite!

something relating to "T" - Tunisian hook and textured crochet book

something funny - penis shaped lip balm cozie! How convenient! I lose my chapstick alot. Tongue

something local - a box of tea and a mystery skein of yarn from the local thrift store

sender's choice - a nice washcloth! Smiley

Thanks coryjo! Everything was AWESOME!  Grin

42  vases from Vietnam in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by tcha345 on: February 26, 2008 06:23:33 PM
I didn't make these, but my aunt in Vietnam did.  They're really neat.  She folds all these pieces of paper into triangle-y things, glues, and then stacks them on each other.   Cheesy I thought they were super neat, so I wanted to share them with you! Smiley

43  scarf and camera bag! :) in Crochet: Completed Projects by tcha345 on: February 16, 2008 04:45:18 PM
Here's a scarf I made out of bamboo yarn.  It feels so nice but it's a little skinny.  Modeled by my grandma.  She's pretty awesome Tongue

An example of the colors:

I love this camera bag.  I think it's my favorite FO to date.  With a fully operable drawstring!  Smiley

44  Re: 5 corner granny CAL anyone? in Crochetalongs by tcha345 on: January 30, 2008 05:53:30 PM
Here's what I have so far!  Cheesy

So anyway, the colors are sorta "yikes" but it's a stash busting project.  hopefully it'll work itself into something not so atrocious.

45  granny square purse in Crochet: Completed Projects by tcha345 on: January 29, 2008 04:03:10 PM
Not your traditional granny square of course! A 5 corner granny square purse birthed when I figured out that it was nearly impossible to whip stitch a bunch of these together.  They didn't want to fit right so....

Voila!

and inside....

i had MASSIVE trouble with the lining because I FAIL at sewing but hey, at least i tried! :-P

47  square blankie using joann's Sensations! in Crochet: Completed Projects by tcha345 on: January 25, 2008 02:07:14 PM
Sooooo I was in JoAnn's and fell in love with their boucle Sensation's yarn.  I did have a few problems.

1. it was boucle and up to this point i never used anything but the 'normal' walmart yarn.
2. it was self-patterning and i know nothing about gauge so how would i make something that didn't look stupid
3. self-patterning pattern was for knitters. i'm totally not a knitter, or at least i wasn't at the time (learning slowly, but hey.... knitting takes FOREVER!)

all in all, this is the granny-square i came up with.  took me about 2 weeks cause like i said before,... love this yarn!

2 skeins later....

48  my very own monster purse finished! :) in Crochet: Completed Projects by tcha345 on: January 21, 2008 06:31:16 PM
So after falling in total <love3 with this one: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190912.0
I decided that I needed to have one of my very own! It's not exactly the same (cause where's the fun in making your own Tongue) but the idea was a great one!

I want to add a face, but as my boyfriend asked me "you're how old?!" (23 on Wednesday) and I have not added one.  My question is, should I?  Huh Any input would be fantastic.  Here's the links for the purse! It took me about 6 hours to make.  Enjoy!

49  'fancy' potholder in Crochet: Completed Projects by tcha345 on: January 15, 2008 07:40:37 PM
So my grandma wanted a new potholder as her older crocheted potholders are getting pretty ragged.  This was my try at a different stitch, which got sorta funky at the end.  Though it did, I think it gives it character.  Smiley
