1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Vertical stripes in intarsia on: September 11, 2005 08:02:34 PM
hello...i'm trying to make the new knitty "hipster"  but i've completely reinvented it so that : 1.  i don't have to buy 2 circular #9 needles (dont have the money) and 2.  can use straight needles instead.  so here's my dilemma:  i want the strips to go all the way around the bag meaning they go down the back and up on the front of the bag. make sense?  and i can't figure out in their patter where the chart (pattern) for the star is. did the leave it out or am i having a blonde moment??  so when i start the project i will have to also start my stripes so that they go through like i want them to.  do i just start the new color and tie the ends or is there some other mehtod that i just cant think of??  please help...  Sad
