1  Folded Book Art in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ceep on: March 17, 2016 07:37:57 AM
Tried a couple different ways to make these.  The heart I made by stretching the pages and sketching directly on the page edges.  The apple I made with a stripe pattern, one stripe per book leaf (not "page"--there are two pages printed on each leaf  Cheesy ).

I got the instructions from a video on Youtube called
"Folded Book Art using Photoshop. Arte feito de Paginas Dobradas."

2  How to make a pleated star (or any shape) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ceep on: June 18, 2015 03:14:18 PM

There's a bit of reinventing the wheel to this project, but it was a result of my personal desire to figure out how to translate any shape into a pleated shape.
For my first attempts I made a heart and a star.  These two are about 3 inches across.

I also made tiny stars.

Easy to hand cut (there is a lot of scoring--but I did think to set the scores 1/4" apart which works well on a scoring board), or machine cut.

Templates and tutorials for the heart and star here:

4  Conversation Heart Accordion Flip Pop Up Card in Valentine's Day by ceep on: February 05, 2015 12:58:45 PM
I have sort of a thing about conversation hearts.  Not the candy--that's chalky.  But I like the shape and the simple lettering on them.

Here is a valentine pop up card that I designed with conversation hearts in various colors.

Cutting file available in multiple formats including SVG, DXF, and Silhouette Studio.

This is the back.

It does fold flat for mailing.

5  Vintage Dollhouse Inspired Paper Houses in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ceep on: November 13, 2014 02:09:26 PM
I am not a doll collector, but I somehow found myself looking at a photostream of vintage dollhouses.  I particularly liked those made by Rich and Keystone.  These are miniature models I made from photos.  So far I've made two.

Printable file here: http://extremecards.blogspot.com/2014/11/vintage-dollhouse-paper-houses-part-1.html

Cut out and glue together.  Easy!

6  Flower Wreath in Crochet: Completed Projects by ceep on: February 21, 2014 07:38:49 AM

Colors are a little over-saturated, here.  See flowers below.

My first crocheted project!

I was inspired by Attic24.
http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2012/12/christmas-wreath-ta-dah.html.

I used flowers, buttons, and satin ribbon.

The yarn is Lion bonbons brights. I used only 1 package of this yarn!  The wreath form is a 12" wire form.  I knitted a cover from some scrap yarn I already had.

9  Junk Mail Stellated Icosahedron in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ceep on: July 03, 2012 05:13:22 PM

I was casting about for a patriotic project and somehow came up with this red, white and blue item.  It's based on a design made out of drinking straws, but I made my own paper tubes from junk mail. Everything is tied together with embroidery floss.

The red tubes are 3" and the blue ones are 4".
The finished size is about 10" in diameter.

I used instructions from a couple places including an old LIFE magazine (scroll down to page 85):
http://books.google.com/books?id=_koEAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA85&ots=3lfe_iNqqS&dq=Christmas%20Stars%20from%20Soda%20Straws%20life&pg=PA86#v=onepage&q=Christmas%20Stars%20from%20Soda%20Straws%20life&f=false

and here:

Here are some pictures I took while I was assembling the inner icosahedron.

10  Lamb and Bunny Pop Up Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ceep on: March 20, 2012 01:48:58 PM

I started with a free cutting file from MTCSCAL efiles and turned it into a window style pop up card for Easter.

Here's the source file:
http://scale-files.blogspot.com/2010/03/easterwhat-does-it-really-mean.html

Free svg, pdf, dxf cutting files here:
http://extremecards.blogspot.com/2012/03/lamb-and-bunny-window-pop-up-card.html

Cut the file.  Crease the small horizontal folds (on the sides) first.  Valley fold the top long horizontal crease, mountain fold the next one down, valley fold the bottom one.  Trim and glue into a base card.
