Gnaomi Gnome has hopped into her suitcase and is on the way to Cali.

Hey, y'all, meet Gnaomi Gnome. She is a roaming gnome and she thinks its high time to hit the road. Excited to think of things to do with my visitor. Hoping for a few wildflowers left when she gets here.

And I'm pretty sure that's a cinnamon altoid tin so it's gold and maroon edges. Go, go, Gryffindor!
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / "She loves me" blankie on: August 13, 2013 09:49:26 PM
I thank my mom for teaching me to crochet. But I thank Craftster for teaching me how to run with scissors or color outside the lines or whatever other analogy fits the embellishing and making patterns my own that I enjoy. I bookmarked this afghan

yearrrrrrrs ago, but just last summer it became my go-to pattern for baby girls. I think it works up so sweet this way. And I wish you could see how sparkly this white is. I've shared the pattern with several people and have even taken a crack at making it easier to follow. When I test those changes (hopefully in a longer, narrower version as a wrap for myself) I will be certain to pay it forward here on Craftster.
This is the most recent version made for my husband's coworker's little girl who is due this month. Happy birthday to her and to Craftster!!!!!

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Piano Key Sunburst Mirror on: August 13, 2013 08:54:30 PM
This project kind of sums up what Craftster means to me in two ways. The first is the way that upcycling was a very new idea to me until I found y'all. If you can't tell,  the rays are piano keys that I found at an antique mall.

Here it is by itself, hopefully at enough of an angle where the cable outlet that I haven't had a chance to camouflage yet is mostly hidden.

It is quite large 38 inches across with a 16 inch mirror.

The second reason is that Craftster is a place to craft about what you are into. (I don't know how many times I've responded to my hubby talking about something new and trendy that, "I knew about that, someone's crafted about it")
Our living room is very much about what we are into. I like to think of it as a salon, not in a stuffy way, but as a place for music and theatre and books and art and hosting friends who enjoy it with us. I love it. I think it makes a great focus both for looks and for ideas.
Thanks for looking.

18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Stormageddon's Guide to the Galaxy on: May 14, 2013 06:16:04 PM
So I might have put a Rebel Alliance logo, a Browncoat logo, a Starfleet insignia and a Seal of Rasillon on a baby blanket.
What do you expect to happen when you receive an invitiation to a Jedi themed baby shower?   "The Force is strong with this one."  And Mommy has been known to refer to him on FB as Stormageddon.
This. This happens.

It wants to be called Stormageddon's Guide to the Galaxy.

This is me not the recipient, just for a better idea of the size. Had to take lots of pics before I gave it away. My hubby actually took these at a Whataburger on my way to the shower.

Close ups of the logos

Since pioneer9 doesn't have a camera, here's her flag from me.
A castle on a cloud for the word "dream."

Received a lovely flag from pioneer9

And I love the metallic thread, every time I work with it I want to tear my hair out. Yay, needed some joy in my life.
