11  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / sometimes I dye things in my college bathroom. on: June 27, 2005 06:48:45 PM
This is a goodwill-thrifted slip that I dyed. I did it in a big tub in the bathroom I shared at school this year. Left purple traces all around, but I think everyone liked it....It's just Rit dye, by the way. I left parts of it sticking up out of the dye bath for that bubbly effect.

12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / No more butt apologies!! You crafters are Gorgeous!!!! on: June 22, 2005 12:15:22 PM
Ok, I think it would rock if we stopped seeing "Excuse my fat stomach," or "Yeah, that's my butt and I'm working on it" tacked on the end of clothing threads. Not only does it distract from the actual crafting and take over the thread with people having to reassure one another, it suggests Craftster is a place where we need to apologize for our unique bodies. Angry

I say, ENOUGH SELF-LOATHING!! It's your body and, fat or thin, dark or pasty, you shouldn't have to justify it to anyone!

Let's have threads that say, "Check out the skirt I made- It makes my ass look awesome!"
13  UNITED STATES / Vermont / craft fairs? on: May 31, 2005 08:58:56 AM
Are there any craft fairs happening in VT this summer? I'd love to know if you hear of any.
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / vegan belt?... on: May 25, 2005 09:42:31 PM
I am in need of a vegan belt- now I know many belts are vegan BUT I don't want one of the ribbon or webbing variety, nor do I want a boring black faux-leather one.

I'd like it to be on the heavy side, i.e. nothing flimsy, and preferably white but also kind of distressed looking.

Phew! Thats kind of a tall order, but I'd loooove your suggesttions- I have belt block. Smiley

15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sometimes I stitch monsters onto all my clothes. on: February 28, 2005 05:26:13 PM
I really cannot help it. This is on a pink cardigan from salvo. I made my roomate a similar one. ( if you cannot tell, the letters say ROAR).
