1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Recon a T-shirt Swap? on: July 09, 2008 01:23:09 AM
has there been one?  i couldn't find anything, if there has been please direct me and ignore the rest of this post Grin

anyone interested in swapping tees that get sent back reconned?

i was thinking it could work 2 ways:

you send a shirt to your partner and they recon it and send it back to you
or
to save on postage you tell your partner your size, they thrift or use a shirt they already have, recon it and send it to you?

would anyone be interested in doing a shirt to shirt or even a shirt to something else (bag, book cover, skirt,etc) swap?

after looking at pretty much every clutch tut on this site and combing them, this is what i came up with.

the material is some pretty heavy upholstery like fabric that my mom found in a box of junk in her upstairs.  i used a heavy white cotton for the liner and about 4 layers of interfacing.  i think it will be fine to throw my phone, some cash, and ID in but don't think it could hold up a wallet.

sooooo....i received my first sewing related injury today.  i stabbed myself with a knitting needle.  it was my bad, using a knitting needle to turn my tie right side out and it slipped and stabbed thru my pants into my leg.  it hurt but i don't think i will come out of it with any permanent scars Grin


it's pretty much a standard halter top.  i left an opening on the bottom also and threaded a long tube of fabric thru to make a bow on the hip.  the material i found at a church thrift store for 25 cents.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Bulldog Pillow! My first project here! on: March 02, 2008 09:05:38 AM
I have looked around and not quite sure where to post this!!! I hope this is the right spot.

Made this for my boyfriend who owns an english bulldog.  The pillow was made out of some white fuzzy material i found at walmart on clearance for $3/yd.  I cut the bulldog out of brown and tan felt.  My sewing skills are very limited but am hoping to get better.  my photo taking skills are also limited until i get a new digi Smiley
