Ohhhh I love it!  I'm a music major, so this would be a fab gift idea for a lot of my friends...

And now to find cheap music books that I'm not going to be too torn up about modifying.. hmmm. Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Wire-wrapped rings! on: August 21, 2008 12:00:05 PM
Thanks!  It's 20g wire, I believe (though I'm actually not sure since I found it at the bottom of a box of old stuff and I don't have a gauge!) it was the only wire I had, and I think it actually turned out better than 14-gauge; it was easier to wrap around itself without my hands cramping up, and it doesn't look completely messed up where the wrapping was uneven, since I made the rings at roughly 1 AM Wink

Ohhhh this is too cute!  pat o'butter might be my favorite just because of his (her?  the classic Pat gender dillemma..) name!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wire-wrapped rings! on: August 20, 2008 11:18:24 PM
I made two rings tonight!

I didn't have any small beads handy, so I decided to use up some glass beads with which I was going to make earrings, but it turned out the giant box o' beads I bought had very, very few pairs that matched! Sad So I made quite a few earrings without partners (maybe wearing mismatched earrings will catch on... hmm), then decided to try my hand at a variation of this ring:

Sorry for the not-so-great photo quality--my camera is broken, so I had to use Photo Booth :s
