851  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: where to buy decent hardware for making dog collars? on: February 05, 2008 09:55:51 AM
My girlfriend does lots of leather work and stuff, and she said http://www.studsandspikes.com has good quality and cheap prices, plus unique stuff.

I agree with the cat comment, my cats would love that.  Especially if it was lined with a plastic bag between the fabric pieces so that it crinkled when they walked on it.  I think maybe I shall try it.  Too bad I don't know how to use a sewing machine...

Ha. Don't expect that grumpy look to go away, I get exactly the same one when I tell my pitbull to get off the bed..  Smiley  Cute pictures.
854  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Found on: February 02, 2008 11:10:14 AM
I did a quick scan and it doesn't look like this has been suggested or done before so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Perhaps a "found" challenge.  Participants must create something out of found objects... Go for a walk around town, through the woods, etc., and collect your materials- pennies, shoelaces, sticks, pieces that have fallen off cars, chewed gum, what have you, and create a masterpiece.

Also, I got an email the other day about a one-peice-of-paper challenge that some art museum held.  The entries were really neat, and if I weren't so technologically challenged I would add a picture or two of them.

What a great idea! I may have to swipe it from you as I have the exact same space, and a pink garbage bag full of spices in my pantry.  Hope you don't mind.

859  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: ?? What type of wedding are you planning ~ age?? on: January 24, 2008 10:31:09 AM
Well, I've never been much for marriage or weddings, but since I'm engaged now I should probably start thinking about it.    I think I'd like to get married in Scotland or Ireland.  I spent a semester there a few years ago and my girlfriend suggested going back this year to scope it out.  I couldn't imagine spending thousands of dollars on a wedding. There is so many other things I would like to do with that much money.  Like travel. Hence Scotland.

Anyway, most of my friends don't like the idea of us going away to get married.  Apparently no one knows how a gay wedding is supposed to work, so I guess we are supposed to set the bar.  I'm all for having a huge reception on the cheap when we get back though.

Other than that, I have no ideas. Also, we are 24 and 27.  And I don't imagine either of us will be changing our name.  But who knows. I guess if you're gay tradition kinda goes out the window.
