First, I made a super cute pair of clay earrings that I cant show because they are for a super secret swap, and they came out perfectly. So I tried to make some more earrings from clay, but this time when I tried to screw the pin in, the clay cracked and started crumbling around it. I made a hole where the screw would go before baking them. The first clay was newer, would that have made the difference? Or maybe the first time I screwed the pin in before it was cooled and hardened all the way? You can kind of see the crackage on the left penguin on the bottom photo.
I covered over/into the cracks with glaze, so they might hold up a little bit, but I can't very well sell these or give them as gifts, as they may fall apart entirely if they are worn too much. If you want them, or one, or something, with or without the ear hooks, pm me, they're yours.
