1  Re: End of Summer Random Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by just-heidi on: October 07, 2012 03:11:36 AM
I received the most amazing package from karwash on Thursday! I was off work ill so it really brightened up my day. I opened the box to see loads of brightly coloured tissue paper parcels with an inspirational hand drawn quote taken from my pinterest on a card.

Onto the things inside the tissue paper! There's an amazing glittery no name board for my classroom, expertly stalked and far better than the makeshift paper sign that I've got at the moment.

A beautiful mug again adorned with another quote taken straight from my pinterest and a really cute happy face on the other side and to top it off it came with two really expertly made mug cosies.

And as if that wasn't enough awesome already...there's more! A really cute workout journal to record all my gym stuff in, some sweets which I'm saving for tonight, a candle and again that amazing card which I'm thinking about getting framed.

And last but most definitely not least, a chalkboard blinged up clipboard and some chalk and a framed I love you because... With a wet wipe marker so I could start using it straight away!

I really could not have asked for a better partner! Karwash stalked me so well and I'm really over the moon with all of the things that she sent me. I was totally spoiled and can't say thank you enough! This swap was a fabulous experience and gave me the swapping bug back! Hurrah for random swaps! And thanks once again to my brilliant partner karwash.

2  Re: Favorite Colour Swap R2 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by just-heidi on: August 12, 2008 09:43:38 AM
As promised now that I have found the camera lead and returned from my short trip to Norway here are the pics of the items that I received from prettyandpetite. They all came with me on my little holiday!! Anyway, onto the pics!

Here's a project bag for my knitting as I requested and it is amazing!! It carried everything I could possibly need and want for completing my latest project while I was on my trip.

It has a pocket with a button colsure on one side as above and then on the other side a long zip closure pocket and it's fully lined in a cute white fabric with little pinky flowers on and an inside pocket in the darker green. The handles are also like big drawstrings to open the top of the bag really wide then bring it in tight so that nothing can escape, also means that it can fit pretty much anything inside!! I can't tell you how fabulous it is!!! I think I'm in love!! Here's a pic of the zippy side.

Then she also sent me a matching needle roll, again something which I really wanted!! I've already got some of my needles and hooks in it but the rest are hiding somewhere in my room!

And open....

The lighter green that you can see at the top under the flap is also a 'layer' with needle slots in.

And then she also sent me some lovely jewellery, a bird's nest ring and a bracelet.

Thank you so much again prettyandpetite, everything is so fantastic!

4  My Hew inspired wrap shrug and FRED! in Knitting: Completed Projects by just-heidi on: June 09, 2008 04:02:19 AM
This is my first post on the knitting boards, I'm usually found over on the jewellery boards. I've recently picked up my needles again though and got the bug! I was browsing Ravelry and found Hew by CanarySanctuary and loved it so I set about making myself one after borrowing needles from a good friend of mine. However, my lack of all skill meant that I went wrong almost straight away and so mine is a little different to the original which is here on ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hew (I think it's also here on Craftster if you search for Hew) Anyway here is my version which may not be perfect but I love it!!

And then there's FRED!!! I made him ages ago as a little joke to send to my boyfriend who is in the army and posted abroad because I'm always telling him he has no friends for fun and so decided to make him one! He is again imperfect but this just makes him more special!! Here he is hanging out with my other bears before he set off on his long journey to reach my boyfriend.

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear your comments!

5  Springtime nacklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by just-heidi on: June 09, 2008 03:49:49 AM

Gosh it's a long time since I've posted anything here, well it feels like it! This is a little necklace that I decided to make for myself when I was bored one evening. There's a vast mixture of beads because I just used whatever my hands landed on. There are also little magnetic beads every so often so it closes itself when you wear it and it can be worn as a bracelet as well. Enough babble.....onto the pics!

I've love to hear your comments as ever!

I've been a bit lazy and not taken many pics of the jewellery that I've made lately so here's a random selection for you all.

First up a necklace and earrings set I made to go with a new pink and blue top.

With a cute little bead on the clasp

Second a bracelet and earrings set made from shell and jasper and pearl

And last but not least some button earrings I made for fun

Any comments are welcome! Thanks for looking!

7  Re: Fiber Friday 5/2/08 in Spinning: Completed Projects by just-heidi on: May 02, 2008 08:58:18 AM
Everything is so lovely!! This is my first ever Fibre Friday post! I got my drop spindle starter kit a few weeks ago and have been spinning between writing essays and this is what I came up with. It's about 24 yards, super chunky and called Mermaid's Castle.

I spun the dark brown from wool top and then found the novelty yarn I plyed it with for the bargain price of 80p at a local market! I know that it's not perfect, but I'm pretty much in love with it and already have plans for my next yarn, once I've finished those pesky essays!!

I've love to know what you all think of my first ever spinning attempt.

8  New bead delivery means new bracelets :D! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by just-heidi on: April 04, 2008 09:19:07 AM
I've been waiting for my new beads and they arrived!! I've made these on request for two of my work colleagues, they don't have them yet though so we'll have to see!!! I was asked for one in colours similar to the one I made for myself which was the darker pink colour, one in browns, one in pinks and purples and one with lots of different bright colours on it. I've got my fingers crossed that they like them!  Undecided The blue one was a surprise gift fro my boyfriend's Mum, her favourite colour is blue.

Any comments are appreciated as ever!

9  Beach comber bracelet and earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by just-heidi on: March 16, 2008 01:43:58 AM
I don't know what's happened I'm suddenly able to make things for myself! I think I'm avoiding writing essays to be honest but at least I'm getting jewellery out of it! I had an image of this bracelet in my head and I'm so pleased at how it turned out. I wanted it to look like I'd just picked a load of stuff up on the beach and thrown it on a bracelet....anyway enough blurb!!

Thanks for looking! Comments are always very very very welcome!
