201  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Crafty TV Shows? or Is cable worth it? on: January 16, 2008 01:56:32 PM
We downgraded to broadcast basic (Time Warner). I thought about the crafty shows I would be missing, but having broadband internet, I can pretty much find anything I want. I don't think it's worth it. If it helps you to have video to see examples of how to do things, stick wit the net and look specifically for what you want on youtube.

BTW, I used to live in Central KY, but now live in Eastern KY. I'd want to get out of KY too if my family wasn't here.
202  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Big Project Stitchalong 2008 on: January 16, 2008 07:43:09 AM
I'm new to craftster and would like to join this. I've been working on this cross-stitch since Sept. '06. I now have a little one, so would like to get it finished for him. The original goal was to have it done before he arrived, but that didn't work out.

I don't have any pics of my progress yet, but I'll get that up soon.
203  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old CDs / AOL CDs / AOL CD Cases on: January 16, 2008 02:49:44 AM
I made a book out of scratched cd's and used it as a photo album. I don't know where it's at right now or I'd take a picture, but I drilled holes in them and attached them with a bolt and nut, putting washers between each cd. Then I just glued pictures to the centers. If I find it, I'll take a pic and attach here.
204  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: pearl necklace, bracelet, and earrings on: January 13, 2008 01:07:58 AM
I love this. Simple and classy, would look great on a bride!
205  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Beading work spaces....how do you organize? on: January 13, 2008 12:44:13 AM
I have lots of little jars that came with candy sprinkles in them. I also bought some that were very similar on ebay. I have a newborn, so soon I'll have tons of baby food jars Smiley I don't have an "area" so I have a couple of those rubbermaid tubs that have handles on top so I can just pick them up and take them to the coffee table, kitchen table, living room floor, etc. When they aren't in use, I store them in the bottom of my bedroom closet. Once I make something I put it in a small zip bag and then seperate it into an empty baby wipe container based on what the item is (earrings, bracelet, necklace) and metal color. Hopefully I'll have more space, but for now this works.
206  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / Eastern KY on: January 13, 2008 12:31:38 AM
Hello everyone, I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there in Eastern KY. I'm in Ashland, right where Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky meet. I just moved here last June from Berea (The Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky). I do beading, cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, and a little bit of sewing. I'm interested in learning all kinds of crafting, but beaded jewelry is my big thing right now. I do whatever I find at Hobby Lobby that looks like fun!
