Anyway - this is a hat made from beatiful 100% wool bought here in Turkey. It's 3 strands of the same multi-coloured yarn worked together, so the finished result is extremely cosy and warm. The top-stitch detail is worked with 6 strands. I did work from a pattern, but have had to adapt it so much as I went along - that it is a lot different from the original. I do love the stitch though, it looks really different and was so easy to achieve.
I'm going to do one next in chunky chenille - I think that black, brown and cream together would work well; but I'll add more stitches in next time for a floppier effect.
Hmmm - the photos are here - but a bit hap-hazard. No doubt I'll get the hang of it eventually.
