41  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Photo album to Flower & Skull Journal, lots of pic. on: March 03, 2008 11:44:56 AM
I made this for the Make Me a Journal Swap.

I was/am so proud of how it turned out!

Here is the finished journal, front view:

I used a black t-shirt to cut out the cover, the flower is made out of fabric scraps, the middle is a button made from fabric. I used a variety of textures to make it too, some of the petals are flannel and the stem is kinda bumpy. I used iron on stuff so I didn't have to sew (and for this I think it is a better choice).

Supplies:

Hey look, my feet got in there... ahem. Photo album, paper, glue, candy bars...

Flower test:

I decided at the last minute to make a different button cause I thought this one looked too much like pepper mint.

Front and back cover before I attached it to the book:

I cut the skull out of a lace-like material and hand sewed it on. It came out a little odd looking but not too bad.

Close up of the skull:

Inside cover:

I left most of the picture sleeves in there because my swap partner is into scrap booking. The paper is from a pack my husband and I got at the dollar store and were going to use it for out wedding but never did. The writing paper is not pictured but I took a writing tablet (found by my husband) and glued it into the middle of the photo album, thusly turning it into a photo journal.

All comments and questions welcome!  Cheesy
42  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Summer Top, Purple and Celtic on: February 05, 2008 03:12:53 PM
I made this top last summer and am very happy with how it turned out! I made it from scratch, no pattern. Ignore my p-jama pants

Front:

Back (I love the bow):

Side:

If I made it again I would make the sides angle out more to create more of a flared look.
