21  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Comfy Cozy Rag Quilt ~ flannel, thrift store sheets, and cotton on: August 18, 2013 02:09:49 PM
Thanks guys!  Cheesy It is super warm and cozy, and my dogs love it so I have to be careful they don't claim it as their own  Wink
22  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Comfy Cozy Rag Quilt ~ flannel, thrift store sheets, and cotton on: August 18, 2013 10:31:31 AM
This is my first ever rag quilt and I couldn't be happier  Cheesy I used up a lot of my flannel stash to make it. Each section has three layers; the back is either an old sheet or cotton fabric, the middle is flannel, and the top is more flannel. I kept the front flannel and the back cotton/sheets, except for the border which is the opposite so each side looks more finished  Smiley I wanted the flannel side to look as random as possible so each strip is made with multiple colors/patterns. But the back is done with long strips that are the same fabric from end to end, then shuffled around a bit.

Here's the front:

And corner close-up:

The blanket is big enough to wrap around me and makes for the perfect movie cuddle blanket  Smiley Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

You guys keep twisting my arm  Roll Eyes here are my first ever TM patches:

The two on the top are finished (I used up the very last of my orange embroidery floss on the top right) and the two on the bottom are works in progress. I also have a few other "pillows" ready to start on. Just need to figure out my finances to see if I can swing for more embroidery floss and/or crochet thread  Smiley

jo_mama made me some stunning wall art  Smiley

Red Riding Hood surrounded by wolf teeth and tree branches (jo_mama if you have a better picture please post it, this was the best I could get)

And it's painted onto a piece of a real tree, complete with bark!

It's absolutely fantastic  Cheesy Thank you jo_mama!

Someone **cough-gamemom42-cough-cough-rlynn** convinced me to make TM patches and I've been making them all day! But I only have three colors of embroidery floss so they aren't very exciting yet  Tongue hoping to get some more colors so I can claim gamemom42 and make some more  Smiley

Thanks for the new addiction guys  Roll Eyes

I'm so glad Aria still likes that journal  Cheesy

I need a decent traveling craft box so I can start bringing small projects out with me. I have one nice sewing box but I turned it into a makeup box years ago and would need some cleaning out before I could put anything else in it  Roll Eyes but I did look up a tutorial for the patches and now I think I'll have to try them (oh the craftster peer pressure)  Smiley

Okay Kartiana; that fabric package should be your sign that it's time to make patches!  I can "see" some very fun and interesting patches with those fabrics.

You better watch out! I might just claim you for some without knowing what I'm doing first!  Wink

Those patches are cute! I've started seeing them pop up all over craftster, but I'm too afraid to learn about what to do with them because I have enough crafty obsessions right now  Roll Eyes

So glad you like the journals Breegy  Cheesy My boyfriend had to patiently wait for me to pick out the papers before I would sit down and watch our usual tv with him. I tend to obsess over paper choices when I make journals and it can be a lengthy process with papers covering the floor  Smiley
