222  Photo album to Flower & Skull Journal, lots of pic. in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by kartiana on: March 03, 2008 11:44:56 AM
I made this for the Make Me a Journal Swap.
Original thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=226318.0

I was/am so proud of how it turned out!

Here is the finished journal, front view:

I used a black t-shirt to cut out the cover, the flower is made out of fabric scraps, the middle is a button made from fabric. I used a variety of textures to make it too, some of the petals are flannel and the stem is kinda bumpy. I used iron on stuff so I didn't have to sew (and for this I think it is a better choice).

Hey look, my feet got in there... ahem. Photo album, paper, glue, candy bars...

Flower test:

I decided at the last minute to make a different button cause I thought this one looked too much like pepper mint.

Front and back cover before I attached it to the book:

I cut the skull out of a lace-like material and hand sewed it on. It came out a little odd looking but not too bad.

Close up of the skull:

Inside cover:

I left most of the picture sleeves in there because my swap partner is into scrap booking. The paper is from a pack my husband and I got at the dollar store and were going to use it for out wedding but never did. The writing paper is not pictured but I took a writing tablet (found by my husband) and glued it into the middle of the photo album, thusly turning it into a photo journal.

All comments and questions welcome!  Cheesy

 Cheesy Journals!!! yay!  Cheesy

And a bookmark! (the other side of the bookmark matches the green dotted journal)

The one on top is all handmade and beautiful! I love the texture of the cover and the weight of the back cover and all the paper (it is my favorite of the two) The green one is all kinds of fun cause I love green!

Inside cover of the first one:

She put this awesome paper inside the book mixed with the blank pages, Love it!!!

Inside of green one with matching side of bookmark:

Now I have a writing book and a sketch book! yay! Thanks so much Jennickell!!!! I hope you like yours when it gets to you!  Cheesy

224  Summer Top, Purple and Celtic in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kartiana on: February 05, 2008 03:12:53 PM
I made this top last summer and am very happy with how it turned out! I made it from scratch, no pattern. Ignore my p-jama pants

Back (I love the bow):

If I made it again I would make the sides angle out more to create more of a flared look.
