Well, happy to say that Halloween is behind us and can now focus all of my time and creativity towards this quilt-which it rightly deserves!!

I've made a little bit more progress but currently cannot find my fusible webbing so I will go out and buy some more tomorrow.   

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is in the cutting phase!!  After reading all the posts of those lucky ones who are nearly completed I was afraid to admit where I was in the process.

I'm currently finishing up on some Halloween decorations and costumes for our party-then I will devote more time to the art quilt.   

That is so cool!!  As a lifetime member of GS I just want to say...Yay Girl Scouts!!!  Nice job on the trefoil!   

I am sure I will love whatever you make.  I am happy with what I am making for you too.  I had to go to a print store place to enlarge the pattern and the girl there really liked it a lot so I am hopefull you will too.  I have the fabrics now too so I need to get busy.

Ok-so I've been doodling on the job (I work as a cashier and I CANNOT leave the cash register-not even to clean the dining room!

Where do you work?

I work for one of the dining halls at the university here in town.  It's not a great job, but it pays (sometimes...payday was Wednesday-I didn't get paid.  Apparently my employee i.d. card does not work and would not "clock-in" when I swiped the card, and the machine acted like everything was fine and I got the green light go.  But hopefully they will print off my check on Monday, even though my manager sent off my hours and the check request on Thursday    )  and was the first job offer I received post-college graduation.  (One day, I'll get a full-time job)

So, soon I will go fabric shopping!!

I LOVE duck hunt!!!  As a novice knitter and fan of duck hunt...I think this is sooo awesome!!!

Ok-so I've been doodling on the job (I work as a cashier and I CANNOT leave the cash register-not even to clean the dining room! So I have lots of down time to complete crossword puzzles, sudoku, and seek and finds...and draw!)  I am pretty confident that I have the overall patten/design worked out and am SUPER excitied to start!

I still need to work out the exact colors I want to use-and fabrics. 

But I am pumped about my idea and hope my partner likes it....but too be honest, it's a freakin' cool idea and how could she not like it!  You all will have to wait and see!!! (I'm not being arrogant, I think it's really really really reallycool and think highly of the idea...I just hope, like everyone else, that the actual product is as awesome as the idea!!)

I think this is so cool!  I used regular placemats and lined them with scrap fabrics from around my craft room.  

They're cheap and inexpensible which makes them great for different holidays....you could almost make one for every week!!       (hmm....)

I didn't add any sort of pockets or extra divisions that I normally add for my "everyday" purses-but since this is seasonal I figured I wouldn't use the purse long enough.  Besides it just adds more bulk to the purse, and more space for me to stuff receipts, pens, chapstick, etc. that would eventually stay forever in that purse because I hardly ever clean out my purses!!

Anyways, on to the purses!!


Outside of one, I bought one placemat and one kitchen towel...even though they were the same stiffness, and the kitchen towel was bigger.

I think it's great!!  I personally love the new handles you've added!  And I agree about the real vs. fake issue-it doesn't matter as long as I like the design and it holds my junk!  I'm the kind of person that never buys a bag at full price anyways-I'll gladly look in the clearence bin for a purse I kinda like and add a few things to make it a purse I love!
