Oh my goodness! I totally love this!

That apple fabric is so incredibly cute. Wish I was young enough to pull it off.

Terrific job.

Wowee! That top is so gorgeous. You'd never know it was a sheet in it's past life.

Beautifully done.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry for being offline, my youngest kiddo came down with whooping cough and the rest of us have been sick in bed.

I'll be back soon and I'll post an action shot then - right now PJs and a hot water bottle are more our speed.

Thanks again for being so incredibly supportive of my first attempt. I'm really excited about trying to make more wearable recons.

Wow. Thanks for such a warm reception. You're all very sweet. I was *so* nervous about posting.

For those who asked:

I cut off his long sleeve shirt at the armpit after removing the sleeves. Then I cut the front  and back piece into a trapezoid. It was a little tight so I opened up the sleeve that had the logo printed on it and sewed a strip onto one side between the front and back. Then I folded the waist over and sewed a casing. I used a piece from the top of the shirt for the drawstring and then made flowers from the fabric of the remaining sleeve. There was hardly any of that shirt left when I was done. Just teeny scraps.

Thanks again for all the nice comments. I love my new skirt and am really excited about making more.

Cool idea.

I love how you were able to make your own. I did something similar with a strong paperclip. It worked great but was hard to take off.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Your shirt is just lovely!

Was it terribly complicated?

So inspired. Thanks for posting.
