21  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Small plarn purse (finally) on: January 17, 2008 03:14:54 PM
This isn't very big, but I think my wallet will fit in it and it's a big wallet. The only bags I had were white with some black on them, so I added red cotton yarn to give it a little color.

The next one I do I will make the strips smaller, as someone suggested on this site, hopefully that will make it easier on my hands.
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / A swirly, lace kind of hat on: January 16, 2008 06:40:31 PM
I found this pattern on the knitting daily site in the free pattern library:

I like this top view:

side view is a little funky, but...............

The pattern started out pretty easy to follow, but I got confused half way through so I just did what I wanted to get the look I wanted. Came out ok, think I'll send it to my daughter for Valentines day....
23  COOKING / Dessert / The dragon lair on: January 12, 2008 10:26:12 PM
I helped a friend cater a going away party last summer and made this cake for the dragon themed party:

I got the idea from the dragon figurine on top of the cake. I didn't think I could make a dragon from a cake, so this seemed the easiest.
24  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Guess I could introduce myself! on: January 12, 2008 08:20:58 PM
I was so excited when I found this site, I just jumped right in!  Now that I've calmed down and looked around some more I found this area  Tongue So, guess I can introduce myself too........

I love to crochet, bake (eat), scrapbook, sew (no quilting yet), paint, and I've gotten a ton of ideas already in just a week.  I can't wait to start some new projects and hopefully at some point one of the challenges.

I live in a "village" on an island in SE Alaska, so I can't just run down to the craft store when I need something. I stock up on stuff when I'm in Juneau, so I always have stuff that I might make something out of someday!! Oh, I love this site!!!
25  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 1st Grandson's baby blanket on: January 10, 2008 07:55:17 PM
I made this blanket for my grandson, I found the pattern in Mosiac Magic and just changed the colors to fit a boy. It came out pretty big, it's fits the crib:

But it looks so much better with my son and grandson laying on it:

This is a little closer up, it's a pretty easy pattern and it worked up really fast:
