41  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Thread Crochet Sunhat & Booties For Baby on: March 31, 2009 04:23:51 PM
That is such a sweet set!  Those little bootie/sandles are too cute.  I would have no idea what to charge for them.  On items that take a long time to make, you'll probably never get the worth of your time investment.  I always use those items as gifts.
42  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap 18 (signups until April 13) (Send by May 4) on: March 31, 2009 01:53:44 PM
guineverefree, the journal sounds great, but that is because I already have one of your broomstick lace scarves! I bet others would love one too.  I'm going to be traveling during this swap, so I pre made the hats and I'll take them with me to mail from there.  I'm only offering 5, but I have 6 to pick from:

43  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Challenge 9 Entry: The Hannah Sweater on: March 31, 2009 11:24:28 AM
I'm early too on this challenge, but it's my first challenge I've entered so I was excited to get it done.  This newborn sweater and headband are in the Ripple Stitch from my 1979 Readers Digest, Complete Guide to Needlework book.  They don't give you patterns just stitches.  They describe the Ripple Stitch as " Asymmetrical shell stitches in a compact pattern"  Whatever, lol, I just liked the way it looked.  The yarn I used was Bernat Cotton Tots, it is so soft, but it took almost 2 skeins, plus worked in this shell made it more like a jacket then a sweater!  I wish I had a newborn handy to try it on, but no luck, maybe in November my grandbaby (hopefully a girl named Hannah!) will be born.  Sorry about all the blah, blah, blah, here it is:

And a close up of the stitches:

I worked this from the shoulders down, so it would end with the ripple on the edges.

I'm glad the snow didn't slow you package down, and it arrived the same time as Shades!  Boy, that girl knows what to send for chocolate!!!!  What lucky kids she has!
47  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet Challenge 9 ~ Stitch-Off: Shell Stitch! on: March 19, 2009 02:03:00 PM
I haven't done a challenge before, but I'm planning on doing this one.  Here's a silly question, is this the thread I post the pictures in? Undecided

I went chocolate shopping yesterday, took me all of about 10 minutes, only 2 stores and 1 restaurant are open in the "off" season.  And the chocolate selection was about what you would find at 7-eleven.  ACK!  I'm going to have to get creative on the chocolate angle, have a couple of ideas.  I just wish I would have bought more when I was down south now!

Luna Kitten, lol! That's probably about right!  We're renting this tiny house, and only have the kitchen table to craft on, my husband has had all of his junk on it for weeks, so he cleared off his stuff and gave me 1 day for mine!  It was a crafting fest!  Now all I have to do is round up some chocolate in this little town!  ACK!  I sure hope I can find some good stuff!
