I'm early too on this challenge, but it's my first challenge I've entered so I was excited to get it done. This newborn sweater and headband are in the Ripple Stitch from my 1979 Readers Digest, Complete Guide to Needlework book. They don't give you patterns just stitches. They describe the Ripple Stitch as " Asymmetrical shell stitches in a compact pattern" Whatever, lol, I just liked the way it looked. The yarn I used was Bernat Cotton Tots, it is so soft, but it took almost 2 skeins, plus worked in this shell made it more like a jacket then a sweater! I wish I had a newborn handy to try it on, but no luck, maybe in November my grandbaby (hopefully a girl named Hannah!) will be born. Sorry about all the blah, blah, blah, here it is:

I worked this from the shoulders down, so it would end with the ripple on the edges.
