1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: how-to: woven circles trivet on: May 16, 2010 08:36:31 PM
I too love this pattern, and had to try it right away.  I just tied a circle of the same cotton thread and that worked fine (I used the bottom of a glass to tie it around and then slipped it off).  Of course I don't have a picture right now, but will post when I get one.  Thanks for the pattern!

Thanks for the recipe, your finished cakes are too cute!  I'm definitely going to have to try this.

Thanks! This might be fun to do as a crochet-along, maybe I'll post there when I start my next one. I'm thinking light and dark purple tulips would look good too.

Your cats are looking really cute. I've been wanting to try this myself, good to see someone else trying it!  I wouldn't mind the recipe for the sugar paste if you have it. Yours looks so good I may have to break down and give it a try.  Looking forward to seeing your finished product!

That is so cute!  What a great idea and great job!
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Tulip Throw on: March 19, 2010 07:07:21 PM
I finally finished this throw for my sisters birthday.  I used Bernat Softee Chunkee yarn, then ran out of yellow. If you do decide to make this be sure to use a different brand, since they are discontinuing the yellow(or maybe all of the Softee Chunky)  Took me forever to find some, but finally did in Canada, and got this in the mail today, it will be a few days late, but oh well.

I love this pattern, it works up really fast and it simple.

The pattern is from Moda Dea, which is also a discontinued yarn:

Very pretty, the colors and textures work really good together.

OH, I've missed this swap!  What wonderful knitted and chocolate goodness!   Hopefully, I'll be in on the next one!

WOW!  I've been off line for a few days, thanks for all the great comments.  I'm really busy right now, but will try and come up with a pattern soon.  I just did the swirls and went from there. That's one of the things about crochet that I love, it's easy to make it look like you want.  I think a "grown up" pair of mittens would be cute too, but the circles might be too big to work with.....have to try it out.
