1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Giuseppe Zanotti shoes help! on: April 01, 2008 10:43:26 AM
So I love these Giuseppe Zanotti rose bud sandals but what I don't love is the pricetag ($550  Shocked )
See these images for reference:

I think I can make a good looking knockoff, and what's more is that I want to make a pair that has snap on rose buds so that I can change the color according to mood/outfit!

A couple of questions, though the project seems, at first glance, relatively easy and self-explanatory:
1) Any suggestions for a good-quality, affordable, comfortable sandal in a similar style?
2) Anybody know where to get oversized satin rose buds like the ones pictured?  If not, is there an easy way to make them myself?  Is there a tutorial I could follow?  The solid colors would be easier, but I wouldn't know how to go about making the 2-colored one in the first picture.

THANKS!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Clustered beads bracelet - how to make this? on: January 11, 2008 07:17:36 PM
I want to achieve an effect similar to this - how would I go about making clusters of beads along a central "core" like in this image?

3  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Green Atonement Dress on: January 09, 2008 03:30:34 PM
Please tell me if I'm posting in the wrong section and let me know where I should move this to.

I am in love, love, love with the emerald green, custom-made silk dress that Keira Knightly wore in "Atonement."  The vogue pattern here (http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V7365.htm?tab=evening_bridal_includes_designer&page=8) is similar but I wouldn't even begin to know how to modify it to be more of a direct replica.  Would any crafters be able to help?  A tutorial or rough pattern sketch perhaps?  I'd also like advice on fabrics and tracking down that perfect color green ... some "emeralds" are just wrong and tacky looking.  Thanks!  Pics are here - please look at all to see the detail of back and front, etcetera:
