1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My Mini Quilt on: February 16, 2008 09:12:49 AM
I finished my mini quilt top.

I am so glad I tried this, with this only being my third quilt, I didn't think I could do a mini quilt at all. I have barely figured out how to make them full size. Anyway, I scaled down some 9" and 12" blocks to make them 3" and the finished top is approx 16 x 20.

I have a couple of goofs in there that are glaringly obvious to me, but the people I have shown have had to search for them, so that makes me feel better and I am pretty proud of this little quilt.

Now I just have to figure out how I want to quilt it and then bind it and it is good to go.

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Last one I promise on: January 11, 2008 03:20:20 PM
K, I'm really not trying to be a board hog, I am just so excited to get to share with someone who "Gets it". I share my quilted projects with my non-quilting friends and they just give me that blank smile and nod, they have no idea how much work goes into them.

So anyway, here is a little wall hanging I made for my living room (And yes, I made one for my mom too LOL but mine is prettier, I don't like the fabrics she chose).

And here is a table runner I made last fall. There are stitched pumpkin vignettes between the log cabin blocks. I didn't make one of these for my mom, it was way too involved.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Halloween table runner on: January 11, 2008 03:16:50 PM
Ok, it's not technically a quilt, but I wanted to share my table runner.
I made two of these this year, one for me and one for my mom. We have kind of an agreement. I HATE binding things, she doesn't mind, so I make one for her and she binds mine for me LOL

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My second quilt ever on: January 11, 2008 03:10:37 PM
Hi all, I am new here, was told about this place on another site and I think I am going to like it here. It's nice to see some other quilters since I don't know any besides my mom IRL.

This is the second quilt I ever made. My first quilt isn't finished (needs the last border added) and being my first, well.... you know how it goes. I am way too much of a perfectionist and since I am a self taught quilter, there are a lot of imperfections. I didn't know about how to iron seams between each step, I just pieced a block then tried to iron the whole thing at the end (Yeah, I had never sewn before) and my corners don't match up, and it's just not so pretty.

But this one, I knew a few more things and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I love Vintage/Prim looking things and this quilt makes my heart sing. I love how it turned out. I made it lap size because I needed something to snuggle under to read, then I can just drape it over the back of the couch when not in use. It's a super simple pattern as well, can't go wrong.
