1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Should I leave negative feedback? on: March 30, 2009 12:13:24 PM
Hey guys, I am not sure where to ask about this, but here seems as good of a place as any. I organized a swap, and everyone received something. However, one person did not finish her "large" item in time to send on time, so she sent her other items and said she would send her large soon. There was issues and she had to start over. What should I do? Should I give the non-large sender a negative? I mean, she did send something, just not the whole package. Also, should I get and angel for the person who didn't get her large item? It's been a few months now, and with all of the spring cleaning, I need to take care of it.

Thanks  Smiley
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Elbac gift but now it's mine on: February 09, 2009 12:12:03 PM
So, for Christmas this year I decided to make my sister a scarf. A Nice Scarf. I made the Elbac scarf from knitty, Winter 2006. It is beautiful. All reversible cables and red and made from Plymouth Yarn's Suri Merino. Sadly it's too scratchy for her, but lucky me, she gave it back. So I now have something I knit and can wear. I never knit for myself, so it's a treat. Sad she can't wear it, but I'll find a new yarn for her. So, here are the pictures. The first shows the cables, the second show the color better.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Dish cloth question on: January 18, 2009 11:04:03 AM
So, I am trying to knit a dish cloth with a loop for hanging. I have no crocheting ability, and everywhere i look, I can only find loop that are crochet. Is there an easy way to do a loop for a corner on a cloth? Or am I outta luck on this one? Any help would be great.

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Giving my little pony new life on: August 23, 2008 07:17:30 PM
So, I have seen a bunch of my little ponies given a new life on here. I have no desire to actually alter them myself, but I have 2 that I would love to send someone for them to be given a new life. I don't want them back, just a photo or two of what you come up with.  This is sincerely to give my happy toys yet another happy life. Is anyone interested?

If this isn't appropriate here, please let me know. Thanks.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First blanket on: August 19, 2008 11:16:07 AM
This is my first blanket that I have ever made. I reallllly like it. So much so I want to keep it, but I can't. My friends are getting married and I decided it would be nicer to make them a wedding gift than to buy something for them. So, I made a triple-strand blanket made with Lion Brand Homespun. It has 2 strands of Williamsburg (blue) and 1 strand of cream. The pattern was from a book I got from the library. I began it on April 24 and finished it this weekend. The wedding is in Sept. so I did good with finishing it in time. But, now I have a friend getting married in Oct. who I am making pillows for ... Maybe handmade wasn't a good idea  Wink

Anyway, On with the pictures. The first is after I had completed one pattern of it. The pattern was 16 rows long.

And here it is finished ... like magic. It's on my king size bed, for size reference.

Close up of the stitch pattern. It's homespun, so the stitch definition isn't great, but that's fine with this pattern.

Final project ended up at about 47 x 63.

I forgot to ask ... What do I do with 6 skeins of the homespun I have leftover? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Zelda swap another round? on: August 06, 2008 03:12:04 PM
Would anyone be into doing another round of the Zelda swap? I love Zelda. All things Nintendo really, but Zelda most. What a great series. Anyway. ... Would anyone else be interested?
9  COOKING / Dessert / Football birthday cake on: July 13, 2008 11:17:04 PM
So, since my sister was sick of spending way too much on birthday cakes for the boys, we decided to have a go at it. And by we, I mean she bought the stuff and made me decorate it. It was a joint effort with the 6-year-old because he had to help. So, here are the photos.

And, of course, he loves it. ... Face first.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Very first dish cloth on: July 13, 2008 10:49:13 PM
So, I had a weekend and a bit of boredom and decided to knit a cloth. Went and bought some "Sugar & Cream" in the Summer splash color. Found a cross stitch pattern I liked online and went to town. If I were to do it again, I think I'd do it in a solid color. Because you can't really see the pattern all that well. I like it though. If you like Zelda, you might be able to see it. I think I'll include the pattern so you can try to see it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, this is my first time writing a pattern too. Very excited by that. I tried to just look at the pattern, but I would lose track, so I wrote out all the knits and purls.  Grin

If anyone knows how to take better dishcloth photos, please let me know. This looks somewhat better in person.

*Sorry, I can't find a link to the pattern. If this is yours, please let me know so I can credit. *

But, now I have a question ... What the hell do I do with it? Shocked) It was a fun, quick knit. Just not sure how to use it.
