9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Recovered chairs from my grandma's house...'cause I'm nostalgic! on: March 24, 2009 08:18:29 PM
So I know this has been done a million times before but these chairs are pretty special to me. My uncle had my late grandma's house completely remodeled inside and out and got all new furniture to go in it. I snagged 4 of the dining room chairs before they got sent to the dump, to put in my house as a reminder of all the times my grandma and I sat and talked at her kitchen table.

I painted them this super beautiful turquoise-y blue color and then recovered the seats in black and white. I hope you love them as much as I do!

P.S. I've never tried to post pics in a post before so I hope they turn out ok!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Maxi dress question from a giantess on: February 12, 2009 08:15:43 PM
Hi everyone, I am new to sewing but think I can make one of those super cute tube dresses that are so popular right now. I was in Joanne's and they have the fabric with the elastic at the top but the issue is that I'm 5'10" and the fabric's not long enough to be ankle length. It hits me mid calf, what my daughter calls "dork length".

Am I simplifying this because I thought it was as simple as cut and sew a seam. Is there some trick to making these dresses long enough for glamazons such as myself??  Huh

Peace!!
