Details of swap:
Do you love seeing new places and things but dont have the money to travel as much as you wish? This swap is for you! Grab that camera and start snapping pictures of your home town, your vacation spot, anything interesting around, whatever you want! Then you will swap with your partner 24 (or more if you wish) pictures and a crafted frame! Also for best results please ask to get your pictures added on a cd and send the cd with the pictures to your partner along with the prints!
Also this is a longer swap, so take your time! Dont feel like you have to go out and shoot all 24 pictures in one day!

Some MINOR editing will be allowed but please do also send the original (the original will not count for one of your 24 though!)

In this swap you will be required to take at least 24 shots AND craft a frame. We will also be sorting participants into film (disposable or roll) and digital groups.

Here are the rules:
1. The minimum number of photographs to take is 24 pictures, although it is between you and your partner should you wish to take more.
2. The frame can be an altered store-bought frame or a fully-crafted frame.
3. If you are going digital, you must print copies of at least 24 of your photos.
4. You must post up at least 3 of your received photographs in the swap gallery to share with others. If you are unable to post pictures, please DO NOT sign up for this swap.
5.  Please bookmark this thread or post here. All updates will be made here and this will help you to keep up with everything.
6.  You are required to send a Delivery Confirmation (DC) or a proof of posting (for non-US nationals) for this swap. PM me and your partner with your DC number when you send and again PM us when you receive. You will not receive feedback until after your partner has received.

Here are some guidelines:
1. Please do not only send pictures of people, try to vary your photos but above all try to accommodate your partner's tastes.
2. When developing the film, ask them to scan to CD as well. It’s a few dollars more and saves you the task of  scanning the prints yourself.
3. If you upload your photos to an online gallery such as photobucket or flickr, paste a link into your gallery posts so that others may share in your photo-booty.
4. Please also post at least once a week in this thread.

NOTE: if shipping to another country, PLEASE mark package "contains film, DO NOT X-RAY" to avoid the film spoiling.

Sendouts will be Monday 6/15/2009

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bracelet Watch on: March 25, 2009 06:21:39 PM
I usually just use my phone for the time but I wanted a different option. But I have incredibly small wrist and watches tend to not fit me right. So I went to various craft stores last night and bought a bunch of beads and a watch face. But then I decided I would make the watch face detachable so that I can change the beads out whenever I want! I have 3 sets right now but only one is finished. Although I'm going to redo part of it and put a toggle clasp cause the ones on their are really hard to use. I just need some ideas on how to do it! Anyways:

What do you think?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Craft my song on: March 10, 2009 04:32:36 PM
Everyone has a favorite song they know every word to. And my roomie and I decided it would make for a cool swap theme!
Probably just a small one maybe only like 3 items
We could send the lyrics and a link to the video or the song to partners so they could hear it.

I think it would be nifty!

Would anyone else be interested?
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Material for sand? ( long discription) on: January 10, 2009 08:54:54 AM
Backstory: I just got a Garmin Streetpilot 330 that is a factory refurb. And it didnt come with a mount. (It was a steal I figured I would find one or order one some other time!) But where it is an older model no one sells the mounts for them any more. I have found some online for $40 but I really dont want to spend that much money on it!! Plus my Beau has an interview 2 hours away on Monday and I would like to have something that will work so he can take it with him.

My Idea: At Best Buy they had a friction mount that was basically just a big sand bag with a place to put your windshield mount in and it stays on your dash. (or so it claims) So I got to thinking.
I COULD MAKE THAT!

The Plan: Make a rectangular shaped sand bag with a place in the middle that the GPS snuggly fits into. On the bottom I am thinking get some of that shelf liner to make it nice and grippy. Also put some of that in the GPS spot or maybe even a velcro strip on the bottom of the gps and on the holder.

The Issue: What sort of fabric should I use so that the sand will not leak? Or maybe put the sand in sandwich bags or something? Also a fabric that may be kind of grippy? Any ideas?
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Christmas Apron on: December 15, 2008 09:32:58 PM
So I am still learning to sew slowly but surely! And tonight I decided to make an apron out of half a yard of discounted walmart and a towel from the Dollar Tree. The best thing is the towel is actually a huge pocket and its absorbent! Yay!
I know its not the best but I like it!

And Back: Yay Reversible!:
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Old to New chair recover on: December 14, 2008 12:21:28 PM
So we got this dinning room set for free but it wasnt in very good condition. But after a little tlc its starting to look better.
The latest tlc has been recovering the cushions. We got the fabric which is a greenish beige at walmart for $4 a yard. Its almost a microsuede. It feels really good I know that! Enough blabbing on to the pictures!

Before: (this was one of the cleaner chairs...)

And After: (the color isnt wonky in real life. I think it was the flash...)
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Games for Dogs on: October 20, 2008 09:57:28 AM
Okay so I work at a doggy day care and we are working on our halloween party. But I was trying to think of some fun games to play with a group of dogs. Any ideas?
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Boyfriend 22nd bday present (vaguely adultish) on: July 15, 2008 01:00:05 PM
Okay so my boyfriend turns 22 on July 30th. I want to do something kind of big for him without spending too much.

About us:
We have been dating for 5 1/2 years but do not live together currently
We are both silly and mushy to each other
Both romantic
He lives at home with his um more "old fashioned" parents, I live with a room mate so needless to say we dont get a lot of alone time together

About him:
He is a complete dork but I love him. He just graduated college with a degree in digital media and plans to work on video games or animated movies in the near future.
He loves cars. His current car is a very nice 99 Kia Sephia that has everything possible done to it.
He also races Auto Cross when he can.
He is currently searching for a job
Video games and movies are also big pluses.

What I would like:
Something sexy without the typical lingerie and night full of sex (although if someone can come up with ideas to make it more original that would be good)
Something that wont break the budget (I was looking at a leather laptop case but that proved way over budget!)
Something fun and kind of original.
I also thought of some classy nude pictures but no ideas where to start looking for that!

Right now all I have is a guaranteed empty house for that night... not getting far!
Anyone have any ideas?
