291  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Harry Potter Unity Scarf - Loom Knit on: October 17, 2009 08:41:42 PM
I really love this scarf and wish my nieces didn't live in Florida! They're huge HP fans. I especially like the crest relief.

294  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Cupcake Creations on: October 04, 2009 05:33:11 PM
My little cousin got that book for her birthday and  I was floored by all the intricate looking cupcakes. The monarchs were my faves and I'm happy to see how well they turned out for you! Now I think I will buy the book for myself after all. I'm feeling inspired to do the snowglobe cupcakes for my church bake sale in December.
295  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Picture Reproduction on: September 19, 2009 11:03:18 AM
Are you using photoshop to create these?
(assuming yes...)
The one thing I like about using photoshop filters is that you can create some really amazing effects with photographs. In your second photo, I like that the use of a pencil filter creates a softer feel with the gray tones, and cropping the photo does a world of good. I think it'll really pop with the adjustments of brightness/contrast before applying the filter.

In the third photo, again, I'd try adjusting hue and saturation of colors before trying the sketch or comic filter(or is it heavy outlines?) because you're almost losing the veil from the image completely. Sorry if I'm sounding overly critical, I'm not trying to be I promise! I think you can make some really cool wall art by adjusting images in this way Smiley

I really love the fabrics you chose and the design is wonderful. I wish I had that as my daily tote! Right now I use an old Briggs and Stratton canvas bag that was free at a trade show. Roll Eyes

I never really understood the monokini, but you did a great job. I wish I had half the sewing skills!

I really love this! My aunt makes scrubbies all the time, but nothing as fun-looking as yours.
