so torn about signing up for this one. After months of feeling like crap due to this "parasite" I'm so behind on all things crafty right now! It would be so sad though if I missed a hoopla swap!! I've been in all of the past 8 so far and love them! Must stew on this some more and decide! Maybe if I can get off my butt and do one project on my majorly behind list by end of sign ups I'll do it!

Sorry that you haven't been feeling well, but creating hoops are relaxing, and will make you feel better. Therefore you have to sign up!

I've been waiting for a while for this round so I'm excited to get creative Smiley
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Embroidery Hoopla Swap Round 9? on: January 07, 2013 08:00:35 AM
I've been waiting for a new round to start! I love the sampler idea, it was actually what I did for my hoop in the very first swap and was a lot of fun. I think I picked 6 different stitches to work with and was pleased with how it turned out. I was going to suggest favorite movies or tv shows, but I see it's already listed lol. Other ideas are:

Birds
Favorite places(states, countries, cities, monuments)
Windows - Looking out, or looking in on a little scene
3D - expanding on the idea of new stitches or stumpwork, or in some other fashion creating a hoop that doesn't just lie flat on the wall

erica_tattoos and jexxican can stop worrying, I have RECEIVED!

First, so sorry guys. I've never been so busy in my life. I literally had about 2 hours of free time every day which was spent on chores, making and eating dinner and doing my "second job"(helping my folks). Today is literally the first day I've had to just sit around and catch up. It's great to finally have a job, but seriously!!

SO

I received this hoop the other day but somone threw out the packaging before I could note who it was from. Now that I know it was erica_tattoos, I can properly thank her for being so awesome! I love Adventure Time. Who doesn't?

I just received from jexxican yesterday. She mentioned that there were other plans on the drawing board for this hoop, but you know, I love it all the same because I LOVE The IT Crowd. For those of you who haven't seen it and have Netflix, start watching it immediately. That being said,

Thank you guys for the wonderful hoops. I hope that mine will be as well-received in just another day or so  Smiley

Just wanted to apologize to both of my partners. I have had everything ready to go since last week, but only just today made it to the post office. So, both are sent and I've given you both the DC #'s.

Also, I received one of my partners hoops yesterday, but my bf threw out the packing before I could see who it was that sent it! I'll post photos in the gallery tomorrow evening when I get the chance

Tried the cling-wrap idea and it worked great, but pulling all the plastic bits out is a paaaaaain! However, I do have one of my hoops re-stitched and will probably finish it off and send it on Wednesday, then re-do my other hoop. I'm starting a new job tomorrow, so I will try my best to get everything out on time.

You guys, I'm mortified! I can not get the transfer pencil marks off my fabrics!  I've hand and machine washed, used stain pens, and nothing works. I have to start over on both of them  Cry  I'm open to any suggestions on new transfer pens/pencils that might be available at Michael's or JoAnn's so I can get stitching asap.

How awesome! I love the hoop in a hoop look, and it really works here.

G finally went to HD so he can finish Pugwash's hoop. I think he's overdoing it a bit but it is out of my hands now. I did the stitching but man, he is really liking the ________ part.

Now I'm really anxious to see what's going on!

I loooove metal hoops. Actually prefer them while working versus the wooden ones. I have a few from my grandma, but found a bunch in my local thrift shops for dirt cheap - like bundles of 12 for under a dollar cheap! Honestly, I find more at Goodwill and various thrifts than at craft stores. For some reason my local shops just don't stock up on the 7" and under hoops.
