1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dying denim black? on: May 28, 2011 03:09:14 PM
Okay, so I found this vest at a thrift store.

I want to dye it black for a cosplay I'm working on. My question is: Do I need to bleach it first before I dye it? Or should I just throw two bottles of black RIT dye and let it sit all day? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / how do you connect your granny squares? on: February 24, 2009 10:10:23 AM
I've been working on some squares for a little while. I plan to put them together for a nice blanket. My question is: How do you prefer to connect squares? I've heard of slip stitching them, sc-ing them, and a mattress stitch. I'm just wondering what method looks and holds together well.
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Sell crochet? How much do you charge? on: June 23, 2008 02:49:31 PM
Just wondering how much the average crocheter sells their works for. I am thinking about selling a few blankets I'm working on and I was just wondering how some of you decide what to charge for certain works.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Any tips for shrinking clothes? on: June 06, 2008 10:47:15 AM
We got these god-awful black polos at work and they are all in men's sizes so a small is basically eating me whole. ^^; I was just wondering if there was anything special I could do before/during/after I try to shrink them. I'm doing basic wash in hot water dry on hot. If this doesn't work, I may just end up taking them in myself, or heck, even making a whole new shirt out of the old one. ^^;
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help with Rinoa sweater/dress! IMG HEAVY! on: May 20, 2008 10:42:37 AM
Okay, I've kinda wanted to make this for a while now. I just want to know if it's possible. And then if there are any sort of patterns out there that could help me. Any help/comments are greatly appreciated.  Smiley

Now, onto the item. In Final Fantasy VIII, Rinoa Heartilly has a sweater/dress looking garment which I would very much like to reproduce. There are a few of them online but most (if not all)  of them are done with fabric rather than crochet.  Huh

Onto the pictures:

Basic idea of the garment.

Close-up of the chest and yarn detail.

Back of the dress. I'd like to know if this could be crocheted on or if it would be better painted on.

Length of the dress.

There it is. Again, any help/comments are greatly appreciated. And sorry to those of you with slow internet.
