41  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Huevos Tejanos! on: March 09, 2011 07:59:41 AM
A dear friend and karaoke dj of mine just turned the dreaded thirty. At his big birthday party I knew his gift from me would have to be awesome considering the shower of things he was going to get. So I got the idea and four hours later this is what I had. The first pic is of his scared face as I reminded him that the day previous he promised he'd wear it!

"I'm a little scared!"

Like a good sport, he wore it for a whole thirty minutes. That is, before the ladies of the house confiscated it. I'm fairly sure it got more action than Ron Burgundy that night. There are pictures, but those are being used as blackmail currently.

Sorry for the far away pictures. My camera was NOT cooperating earlier that day for good closeups. The idea came from this link. http://blogue.us/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/crocheted-penis-15278-1254400545-2.jpg I had to make up a pattern since I couldn't find that one anywhere!

Zombie hand, kinda cool. Embroidered zombie hand, getting warmer. Embroidered zombie hand reaching out of lovely grass with a butterfly and a lady bug? Pretty much awesome with a side of awesome. Love it!

This looks awesome! I love that it resembles the characters from the Doug cartoon, too! haha

This rocks! I like how it's a tip off to cabin living but still modern and feminine!

Super cutie! I like the mix in patterns a lot!

On the mom side, though, my brain flipped out about all the red dye! My little one can't have it so my brain instantly went "nonononononono!" haha

Amazing!

I'm always astonished at some of the things that get recognition on this site and some of the things that don't. This is one of those things I think should get MORE recognition!

Thanks, ladies! I'll stick to that price, then.  Cheesy

MonicaElaine, I'm about 20 mins north of Denton, TX and we're snowed in AGAIN. 4 inches and counting! Time to get busy again!

So, like the rest of country we're icebound. Midway through day three the cabin fever set in. So, I stood in front of my wall of fabric and made a hasty decision. Time to use some of it up! Enter lots of ironing and rotary cutting!

This is one of three sets of five 8"x8" cloth lunch napkins. They're set to enter the teacher workroom of a local elementary on Monday! $10 for set seem fair? More? Less? What would you pay?  Undecided

And this is a set of 6 8"x8" cloth napkins. I was thinking $12 for these. hmmm

I adjusted the colors slightly so they were true to life. I have precut panels for about 30 more. They're in different fabrics but in sets of 8 or 9. I thought they'd make good large sets. Worth my time?

Also, excuse the gross table. It's just stained. I rescued it from my step-dad's clutches. He'd been using it to store cans OUTSIDE! It was handmade by his great great grandfather almost 100 years ago! But, alas, the refinishing has to wait until spring when it's warmer and will dry quickly.
