As some of you know I am really new at sewing =( I have the peasant top pattern from youcanmakethis.com how do I extend it to make it into a dress without having an actuall body to measure. are there any standard sizing measurements out there? please help or if anyone know of peasant dress patterns
I am so proud and exicted how this dress came out I still have to put on the ruffle at the bottom, I would have used contrasting fabric on the straps and ruffles but I dont have any. I think its my favorite pattern, being I am a new sewer this one was easy to follow but tedious !! its also Dollar a yard from walmart I purchased last week I bought the whole bolt. I am sooo addicted, I cant stop!! I need to go to rehab =)
I cannot get over how simple this pattern was!!They had an already made sample at walmart of the whole 3 piece set Daisy Kingdom of all patterns , my completed dress looked exactly like the display! I always hear negative reviews about them. Oh and Walmart is my new best friend they had new awesome 1 dollar a yard fabric I purchased three complete bolts =)
The picture does not do justice. I bought the fabric yesterday at Joanns, it supposed to match it is the same line "Summery Butterfly" I wont be using that sewing pattern again =( the bodice top it is 6 pieces. 3 in front and 3 in the back for lining. I am new at sewing, it didnt help there were too many pieces =( 2 straps, front and back skirt and another piece for the casing in the back. Outfit looks better in person.
I have been sewing for one year on and off. the pink and brown halter looks nice on the mannequin but it does not fit nice on my daughter I dont like this pattern!! the second flowery one I LOVE!!!! I made it for my daughter for our mothers day brunch everyone loved it they thought it was store bought.
