1  Sweet Baby Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by winstongang on: January 10, 2013 04:41:15 PM
I love making baby blankets Smiley Smiley All of the fun of making a blanket, without having to invest a ton of time/yarn in a grown up version! I made this baby out of some Simply Soft yarn I already had in my stash, and made up the pattern as I went along. Gifted it to a coworker at her baby shower, and she loved it. Success!

2  Melted Crayon Wall Art! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by winstongang on: September 27, 2011 08:04:54 AM
I simply had to jump on the melted crayon wagon after seeing all the fun pieces people have come up with! I used an 8x10" wooden canvas that I painted black first, and then held the crayons while melting them down the front. I rather adore it Smiley

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, it's all I have for the moment Smiley

5  Re: Longing for New Moon: from Forks to Italy and back in The Swap Gallery by winstongang on: July 22, 2009 04:22:07 PM
Pictures! I received the most fabulous package ever from ysmeine! She made a fantastic Edward/Jacob handbag using posters!! I have been carrying this around for two days, and have already received so many compliments- plus my sister tries to steal it at every opportunity! *lol* She also sent an awesome notebook with the wolf packs tattoo design on the front, a paperweight conversation heart (like the ones Jacob gave Bella!), an Edward pin and a beaded necklace (not pictured, they are already in my jewelry box!), a heart pendant with matching earrings, and a cool bracelet with tiny Twilight books! Thank you so much, ysmeine! I'm having a blast working on your items, and will have it ready in a few weeks!

I totally <3<3<3 Twilight! And yet, I have not been able to see the movie yet (darn single-motherhood makes it hard to find a sitter!!), so I am crazy excited about it's DVD release tomorrow! I made several photo pendants to commemorate the occasion, lol Smiley

7  Blue & Green Button Box in Completed Projects by winstongang on: August 20, 2008 02:39:11 PM
My boyfriend rescued this old wooden box from the trash and brought it home for me to "do something crafty with" (those where his exact words! *lol*). I painted it a plain blue for a base coat, then finished it off with a shiny blue paint. I used gorgeous scrapbook paper to line the top and insides, and then glued a million buttons to the top. The interior top has a small sticker that says "bloom into you" in the middle. Sweet, simple and I love it! It now sits on my bedside table, holding my journal and lavender sachets- which is a much better use than rotting in a landfill, right?! Smiley

I got my package from stacysews today! I LOVE it! She sent the most adorable pear pincushion (I had one on my wist! I love this one!)

A FABULOUS knitting needle roll that I put to use right away!

A huge pack of buttons:

And three sets of fun fabric: Speedo swimsuit fabric in a fun purple and two fun cotton prints! Also included was a swimsuit pattern (sadly, not my size! But I plan on using the fabulous fabric to make my daughter a swimsuit!), swimwuit elastic, and two super long zippers (I'm thinking backpacks!). What a fabulous swap! Thank you so mucy, stacysews!

9  A baby quilt made from baby clothes! (image heavy) in Quilting: Completed Projects by winstongang on: July 20, 2008 09:59:49 PM
Let me start off by saying I am no quilter. I LOVE quilts, but do not have the patience required for a beautiful and large piece! Here is my second quilt, made from squares of my youngest sons clothes. There are several places where the squares didn't line up properly, but I don't really mind. I used a large piece of blue anchor fabric that I have had in my stash for several years, and simply folded over the edges and stitched around twice to hold it. I used small bits of yarn to tie the layers together, in several places all over the quilt. I love it and the baby loves it,  so that's all that matters! It's so soft and comfy I want to make myself one Smiley

I recieved from Aspenwall today, and I'm in love! She sent the most awesome mix of fabrics, a fabulous zippered bag, and a card that just wowed me! My favorites are the bananas, the polka dots, the brown bird/flower print, and the pink and yellow Freshcut! And the teacup scrap- how cute is that!

Thank you so much, Aspenwall! This package is the best!
