This is my second try paper embroidering - I made Christmas cards with simple retro-y motifs.

I finished this sweater just in time for my knitting group's Christmas dinner!



It's made from lovely Sirdar Balmoral wool/alpaca/silk mix, constructed in the time-honoured Zimmermann top-down raglan percentage system, with the addition of a scoop neck. The body shape is snug at the top and flared out at the bottom, and long like a tunic. The bottom hem has a purl-turned row and the neckline is simply edged in reverse stocking stitch which curls neatly in on itself. The super-long arms have a smaller snowflake motif taken from the main chest pattern and are edged in 1x1 rib.





Here's the chart for the chest if you'd like to give it a go - it's worked over a multiple of 48 stitches (I did it over 146).

Just dug out my old one & I've forgotten how to use it, and can't find instructions anywhere online. I can get as far as putting the pin back on but can't remember how to press it. Please help!

These pillow cases were my first-ever embroidery project, using Sublime's gorgeous Dutch-Russian patterns.

I made this piece for something called the Travelling Moleskine project - I got sent a blank Moleskine with a theme (mine was 'Crafty'!) which you fill in a page of and then send on to someone else.

My idea was based on a quotation I found online and typography by my hero, Herb Lubalin.





I designed it on the computer, printed then pressed through with a pencil to transfer the outline into the book. I punched the holes with a needle first then backstitched the design.

i found a battered old chest of drawers on the street outside my flat, so we adopted it and gave it a makeover. i sanded to remove the old varnish, painted it white and stuck Paperchase paper on the drawers, sides and top. i'm really happy with it! there is more detail on the project in my own blog http://www.whatkatiedoes.net and more photos on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/ohmystars

i made these charms out of shrink plastic (it trades as shrinkle in the UK and shrink-dink in the US, try your local craft store!), i think they're pretty effective, especially the silver ones which i sprayed with enamel paint.

here's a sweater i designed and just finished inspired by delia's and kim hargreaves designs

i used about 9 balls of debbie bliss merino chunky on a 5.5mm circular needle.
it's a simple top-down raglan, you can see the rather rudimentary pattern here! i plan to add a big shawl collar once i buy more yarn, to make it extra-snuggly.
