21  Doily floor mat? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by megziewoodles on: June 06, 2008 06:59:29 AM

Basically, I'm in love with this.

But what sort of yarn would one use?

I've figured that I'd find a nicer doily pattern and use a phat hook and doubled yarn, but what kind? Something durable, and washable. And something that won't fuzz up.

Definately not in white. And I hear puffy paint is good for making things non-slip.

Mostly I wanted to show you the awesome. And hopefully get myself psyched up to make it.

22  I'm gonna sing the doom song now. in Knitting: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: May 31, 2008 01:04:12 AM

This is Gir. He's a birthday present for my Pig.

And there's the pattern he's loosely based off. Basically, I just used that head.

23  Baby jacket (Warning, contains knees.) in Knitting: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: May 20, 2008 05:53:37 AM

I used this pattern: http://www.knittingpureandsimple.com/baby_sweater_for_site_2.pdf

And did a couple of mods.

Lulz at my unmade bed and messy floor.

24  I made another scarfie. in Knitting: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: May 03, 2008 05:17:51 AM

It's a dragon scarf with dragon scales. More of a sea monster scarf, though.

^Pattern found there.

25  My nerdy scarf is very nerdy. (With an attempt at a pattern - link) in Crochet: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: May 01, 2008 08:02:36 PM

Yes, that is the emission spectrum for caesium. In scarf form.

EDIT: I wrote up a quick draft of the pattern on my blog. Hopefully it isn't too unintelligible.

^There's the link.

26  xkcd, anyone? in Knitting: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: April 17, 2008 12:33:17 AM

Based on www.xkcd.com/99.

It is exactly the right size for a jumper back.

EDIT: Email all sent to Randall Munroe.

27  I pwned cables. in Knitting: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: April 09, 2008 07:15:37 AM
So, I was looking through my Harmony Guide to knitting stitches and I found a neat looking cable and wrote a fingerless mitten pattern to whack them onto.

I think I did quite well for first time seriously cabling.

Excuse the horrendous pictures, I just finished them, it's nighttime, I'm a ninja. They get delivered to my friend Rachel tomorrow. I'll take a photo of her wearing them then. But for now these will have to do. Although, you can see the cables really well.

I appear to have a bead in my lap.

And the other one.

Heh. That's pretty neat. The rest are too.

I was sad until I realised that I did indeed have a picture to post too.

Yep, that's my msn display pic, and yes, I was wondering what song it was.

29  Angel shirt. in Crochet: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: March 10, 2008 05:26:40 AM
My friend Jimmy has a thing about angel wingalings.

So I crocheted him a pair of them and sewed them onto a T shirt.

Excuse the photos, they were taken with a webcam at night. You can't see the spirals, or the gold stitching.

I learned to crochet with my left hand for this!

30  Maths + craft + purple. What else do you need? in Crochet: Completed Projects by megziewoodles on: February 10, 2008 10:03:32 PM
I made a mobius strip.

And another one.

I'm too cool to weave ends in.

Also: what would Escher do?
