2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crocheting on Plane? on: August 22, 2008 05:48:11 AM
Hey everyone...I'll be flying for the first time on a plane. I was thinking about working on some projects while I fly, but then I thought I probably would have my crocheting hooks confiscated (NOT GOOD!). What do you all think? Has anyone else been on a plane & did some crocheting? I'd rather know before I attempt it. Otherwise I will just assume they will take my hooks...so I will just not go that route.

Opinions?

I looked on TSA and they said that crocheting and knitting needles are good to go. However, when I emailed them to confirm (especially the knitting needles) they said its ultimately up to the person that checks the bag. This made me keep my work at home.
3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Tofu Marinades? on: April 27, 2008 05:35:03 AM
This isn't really a marinade but recently I used "Iron Chef" General Tso Sauce for my tofu. It was awesome.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Least favorite part of knitting.. on: March 25, 2008 05:16:23 AM
Can't stand casting on.  Seeing a number like "cast on 98" makes me shake.  Once I'm past the first row I get over it.  Another one is making a hat I love only to find out I look bad in it.  Thank goodness I have two daughters and a GD waiting in the wings.   One of them gives it a good home.

Me too. I have a haunting feeling that it may be because I'm not doing it right Sad
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Recycled Crayons on: March 20, 2008 10:54:46 PM

I don't understand. What do you do with them or are they just for decoration? How do you make them so shiny?

I found this blog the other day and it may have some helpful suggestions you can use, I have found some good ideas :

The last one has some really good ideas about using separate small soup or thermos containers for foods other then soups.  Also there is mention of an oven lunchbox that he could plug into a car cigarette lighter.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links. This is great info!
